Playing a bunch of good music that I've never heard before, the occasional movie or video clip, and sometimes lengthy dead air (must be their sponser?). Clear signal (up to S9) and clean modulation. Heard a different version of a Hendrix song. Lots of instrumentals and some surprising vocals. Once again I get a stronger signal on the Pro3 and longwire than on the Pro with the twin-sloper. I was just gonna list this as unID. 6935 AM. Sounds like he has a LOT of RF getting back into his audio but as Bram noted, the mic is way worse than the music. Currently playing Led Zepplin at 2330 UTC.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Good signal into WNY with what sounded like Pink Floyd (possibly played by someone other than PF?). Off 0130 after sending "PeeWee" several times in CW. Heard announcements of some sort earlier but coouldn't make anything out. Nice music...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Caught at s/on with ID then parody ad for Manure Renewer and a "W-A-Z-U" ID into Glen Campbell. Readable signal but not terribly strong into WNY. Roughly a steady S4-5. Great to hear Fred again! Played some Rush, gave a gmail address for reports, a Fireside Theater clip, "WAZU Calling" repeated, then gone 1431. A nice short, tight show!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
For grins, I put one Pro into LSB and the other into USB and enjoyed the phase shifting. No evidence of "stereo", however.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Weak but clear here in WNY. And at a speed I can read! ;)by jtart - Free Radio Logs
No, unfortunately it will never happen. Greed rules, darn it... What i suggested to the LPFM ramrods was Non Profit, but NOT non-commercial. That way they could run a few minutes of low-key ads to pay the regular utility bills, at least. However, they wanted non-commericial and that's what they got. As a result, the LPFM license-holders always have their hand out to make ends meet. I don'tby jtart - General radio discussion
But ff, "non-commercial" is the kiss of death to any broadcaster or broadcasting plan - and that's what has happened to LPFM. They wind up competing with NPR begging their listener for money to stay on the air. That's almost as boring as the endless commercials! Ya gotta allow for some limited commercials just to help pay the bills; radio ain't free, ya know. 'course, then there's NPby jtart - General radio discussion
Gottum on 6815 in CW mode. Weak into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Had to laugh about two things... First, he was still relaying Amphetimine Radio when AR announced that if you were listening on 6940 you weren't listening to AR! Second, his live UTC time checks were an hour off! Sounds like he's got a bad patch cord. Also sounds like he's playing the music through a microphone... And he was on all day. To quote Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon!!"by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Yup; I just heard a Radio 6925 ID. And another repeat of "Roxanne"...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Possible ID as Radio 6925, with a self-proclaimed "DX Extravaganza". This clown has been jamming the frequency all day long; lotsa rebroadcast bits and heavy echo. Probably the one that relayed Azteca #5 (same audio break-ups). Just began Beatles "With A Little Help From My Friends", so maybe another outdated relay? Nope - into SSTV at 2200Z. At one point he gave the emaby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Also heard in WNY with decent signal and program #5.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Tuned in to some Irish (?) folk music, first an instrumental, then female vocals, including Amazing Grace and Danny Boy. Getting all the way to about a S3 into WNY. At 2030 it sounds as though the same thing is being relayed on 6925 with a somewhat better signal!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Tuned in to hear a woman talking in Brit-accented English. Time pips at 1300Z, then ID as BBC World Service and into the (current!) news - maybe from a webfeed somewhere? Signal peaking around S5 into WNY. Maybe "This Is Not the BBC"? Or has the BBC decided to use 6925 now? Still audible, but weaker, at 1520Z. Most of the time between 1300 and 1500 was an exhaustive, in-depth docuby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Loud and clear (but ever so slightly overmod) signal into WNY. T-in to a jazzy version of the 2001 theme, then more instrumental music. ID at 1358 as Channel Z and into B-52s song Channel Z. One of the best signals I've had from them in recent times - up to S9! Goodonya CZ... Into The Andy Walker Show at 1403Z. Still peaking at S9. End and off at 1502Z. Good show.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Weak to fair signal (but good mod) into WNY. Black Sabbath and other hard/metal music, along with the theme from The Roadrunner TV cartoon shortly after 1300Z. No anmts heard yet. Shoulda mentioned it's in AM...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Quite possibly the best signal I've ever had from them! S7 to S9 with native music at 1925 UTC. Some of the music they play sounds positively Oriental and/or sub-continental. But it's really interesting!by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Got a full data card from Adventist World Radio for a xmsn in Arabic on 15480 in 21 days. States 50 kW and the site as Volondry, Madagasgar, although the card is for the KSDA (Guam) rededication (Sept 3, 2013). Country #81 verified.by jtart - QSLs
'tis Liquid Radio with their occasional oldies show! Fair to poor into WNY, and yes, the pesties are pestiferous... Been listening for about an hour now and actually recognize the music - when I can hear it over the pesties.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Weak to poor signal into WNY only audible due to the low noise level. Came on with Jimi Hendrix "Voodoo Child" (?); no announcements heard as yet. Off 1547Z.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Shows what *he* knows: This was an eReport! ;)by jtart - QSLs
Todays' mail brought a full data card, program schedule, infosheet, and stick-up calendar from Radio Free Asia for a broadcast in Tibetan on 7470. Total elapsed time: 11 days. Country #80 verified. I may yet get to 100! This is supposed to eminate from Ulan Bator, Mongolia, but the card simply says "Asia"...by jtart - QSLs
It sounds good. Wonder how it would work with a 102-inch CB whip? And that $200 price point might work well for them. Unfortunately, my car radio doesn't have RDS so I'd be tuning blind. Still, it's an interesting concept.by jtart - The Workshop
GREAT signal into WNY this morning - up to a S9 with some fading to S5. Tuned in just in time to hear him play some Moby Grape for me. Frequent IDs and contact addresses (email and BRS). Playing some nice obscure tunes, Z. Thanks for the Sunday morning broadcast.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Poor to fair signal with "Frontier Gentleman" drama. This is about the first time I've had a readable signal on this station thanks to an extremely low noise level.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Just barely audible into WNY. By using the IF DSP I can tell that there's music there, and I heard a bellowed "Wah-Zoo" ID at 2204Z. And that's about it. Probably skipping over me, so the rest of you have a chance...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
I'd love to have a clean copy of "Concerto for Headphones and Contrabuffoon in Asia Minor" by Bill Martin (and Harry Nillson), a comedy LP from the 1970s. Had it years ago but, along with a lot of other stuff, it got lost in a move. Anybody?by jtart - The Swap Shop
Price reduced to $500, shipped. FYI: Universal Radio has a used one listed for $619!!by jtart - The Swap Shop
Checked both mornings and found absolutely nada on 11390 kHz - not even so much as a faint het. This morning I did hear some SSB comms on about 11388, but quite faint and probably in a language other than English.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
