** Ball Smacker Radio

6/26, 0125, 6960am. Pirate music, S9 vs nearby storm noise, presumed Ball Smacker Radio on usual schedule from 0100 UT - Friday nights (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

6/26, 0107-0114+, 6960am. Rock ditties; Ancr said it was a theme pgm; ballsmacker@protonmail.com. SIO=3+33- w/hiss QRM that USB took out; lotsa QRN also. (Frodge-MI)

6/26, 0118, 6960am. On Barrington Hills IL sdr, fair/poor signal with static from weather, song "I'm telling you now" by Freddie and the dreamers from 1965, Ball Smacker ID at 0120 with bowling sound then another pop tune I can't ID, at 0125 song "I'm into something good" by Herman's Hermits from 1964, nice program, thanks. BTW, several other Illinois sdr's seem to be missing their antenna connections because there is nothing but hiss on their waterfalls. (Hassig-IL)

** Captain Morgan Shortwave

6/21, 0010, 6931.5am. Blues, 0016 ID sequence including “Twilight Zone” music, off. Poor – fair. (Taylor – WI)

** Earth Station 1W

6/27, 0230-0300+, 4033usb. Weird-spacey electro-music, one with bird calls; mainly uncopyable gruff voice; 0242 voice talking about “your ionosphere” & mentioned “Earth Station 1W” & again @0257. SIO=453+ overall w/S10 peaks (Frodge-MI)

** Fox News Relay

7/2, 2233-2235, 6970am. Political talk, dumb commercials. poor signal. (Will-MD)

** Ion Radio

6/26, 0105, 6870am. Just caught a reference to the Mothers of Invention. Fair/Poor Signal (Majewski CT)

** Radio Free Whatever

6/26, 2241, 6960usb. On Barrington Hills IL sdr, good signal despite storms in area, DJ = Dick Weed reading posts, now heavy metal or punk sung by woman, at 2244 fired up receiver locally but weak under local digital neighborhood noise, at 2320 noticed selective fading, off at 2337utc after announcement by Dick Weed. (Hassig-IL)

6/28, 0011-0130*, 6960usb. A very nice show of newer (for me) Indie tunes. DJ Dick Weed had some fun. One tune that I knew was Under the Milky Way. At 0111, gave a shout out to the posters on HF Underground. Good signal the entire time. (Majewski CT)

6/27, 0102, 6870am. Talk & music at QRN level (Frodge-MI)

6/30, 0252-0259:42*, 6950usb. Music; off abruptly w/o ID. SIO=353 (Frodge-MI)

** Wasteland Radio

6/25, 0025, 6950usb. Music with SSTV and waterfall images. None decoded here until SSTV at 0048, last SSTV and waterfall images decoded with ID’s, off. Poor. (Taylor – WI)

6/27, 0012, 6925usb. Rock music, SSTV (Dead Mouse Radio – mouse skull and crossbones, B&W “WLR Wasteland Radio,) faded out several minutes, back poorly with music, SSTV (no decode,) in and out (mostly out) for next 20 minutes or so, SSTV (“WLR Wasteland Radio” with radio tower,) off. Poor to just above static floor. (Taylor – WI)

** WDOG

6/27, 0105-0120+, 6965am. 6/27; Instr’l at tune-in w/code ID & dog barks & howls; voice ID @0107:40 into Motown ditties another voice ID @0119:45 & more Motown. SIO=3+53- (Frodge-MI)

6/27, 0107-0125, 6965am. Show of Motown Tunes, Smokey Robinson, Temptations, Michael Jackson and others. Conditions were variable for this station like the others before it. Started with a good signal, then slowly faded. (Majewski CT)

6/27, 0112, 6965am. 0115 “Just my imagination,” other era songs some with dog howls and barks over music … was out of the room for a while and returned at 0144 to a clear ID, “Got a hold on me,” “Need your lovin,” off 0205. Started out poor, but good by s/ off. (Taylor – WI)

6/27, 0117, 6965am. On Normal IL sdr, weak noisy signal, hear a young Michael Jackson singing an early tune, at 0128 Otis Redding "dock of the bay", at 0132 oldie "dancing in the street", many more urban and Motown tunes, signal improved a bit by 0147utc, oldie from 1963 "he's so fine" by the Chiffons. (Hassig-IL)

** Wolverine Radio

6/26, 0007-0104, 6950usb. A show of songs with Train in the lyric or titled. Elvis Mystery Train, Monkeys Last Train to Clarksville. ID at 0030, Maryann Faithful Peace Train, Bob Dylan Slow Train, ID at 0057 Good to Fair Signal due to fading (Majewski CT)

6/27, 0008-0020+, 6950usb. Ditties featuring trains, including Chattanooga Choo Choo, Elvis’ Mystery Train & Monkees’ Last Train to Clarksville; ID @0015:53. S8 peaks (Frodge-MI)

6/27, 0017, 6950usb. On Barrington Hills IL sdr, good signal, a train themed program, hear old Elvis tune "train train" then Monkees "last train to Clarksville", at 0021 a reggae train tune, at 0024 "Marrakesh Express" by CS&N, at 0034 Wolverine ID then Grateful Dead "Casey Jones (you better watch your speed)", 0039 Gladys Knight & the pips "midnight train to Georgia", many more train tunes, at 0105utc echo ID then SSTV/FAX. 6/27, 0049, 6950usb. Pirate music at S9/+10 including storm noise, probably Wolverine Radio; yes: convenient two-word ID interjected at 0051 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** Yeah Man Radio

6/25, 2321-2339, 6925am. It was a Solid Gold Million Dollar Weekend, with Steppen Wolfe unit 2339 and the signal faded. Fair Signal (Majewski CT)

7/2, 2306, 6925am. Music, Rascals, How Can I Be Sure, Yeah Man Radio ID, and into more golden oldies, Spanky and Our Gang, Sunday Will Never Be the Same; Hollies, Bus Stop. s7/s9. (Will-MD)

** YHWH

6/28, 0332, 7475am. Anti-Christ pirate, Station YHWH registers S9 but Josiah`s intonation on thin modulation is unreadable vs noise level. Ran across him before getting Rick Barton`s tip that he was very strong into AZ at 0325 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

6/30, 0417, 7475am. Familiar Josiah’s voice at QRN level. (Frodge-MI)

== European shortwave ==

** The Vault

6/26, 2324-2327, 6985am. S9 carrier with poor audio, I could just make out it was playing music. The operator needs to check his modulation. (Majewski CT)

== Otherness

** WDLW 1380 fifth harmonic

7/2, 2133, 6900am. Music, Pretenders, Don't Get Me Wrong, DJ talking, giving away a gas grill, PSAs and commercials. "1380 AM and 98.9 FM" ID matches to WDLW 1380 Lorain, Ohio; s5 on the NW8S SDR, which is in Lorain County, Ohio. Dead on 6900 AM, which is 5x1380; appears to be fifth harmonic. Clean AM sound. Rolling Stones Goodbye Ruby Tuesday at 2140. WDLW ID at 2145. (Will-MD)
