** Ballsmacker Radio

3/27, 0056-0204, 6960am. Piano IS, 0200 initial ID with bowling ball hitting pins sound effect, “Talk to me,” stinger, “Ghost Buster” theme, “Call Me,” Valerie,” ID into lots of other songs (including “Call me Al,”) with ID every 3rd song or so. 0200 ID and protonmail e mail address for eQSL, theme like music (not typical,) piano IS ending at 0204. 2 SSTV followed – both the same of Maxwell Smart talking on his shoe phonewith “email us at ballsmackerradio@protonmail.com” with thanks for listening and donations. Second was the same with “March 26, 2021 10 PM EDT 0100Z, 6960 AM” on top. Fair to good. Nice to get a complete information SSTV QSL. (Taylor – WI)

3/27, 0059, 6960am. Fair/poor with fading, hear piano instrumental, then pop/rock tune, some QRM de utility, at 0104 song "ghostbusters", at 0107 song "call me", at 0116 song "call me maybe", still on at 0204, fair sig with piano solo, SSTV/FAX at 0205. (Hassig-IL)

3/27, 0120-0124+, 6960am. Pop ditties; female, lady woman ID @0121:56 & said to check out their new web site at ballsmacker.net. SIO=453. The “000” beacon was here a little earlier. (Frodge-MI)

3/27, 0129-0209, 6960am. At 0129, S6-S8 pirate music, bet it`s Ball Smacker Radio, which with eQSL last week said they`d be back Fridays at 9 on EDT on this frequency. Pirates not usually so open about scheduling plans, but getting bolder in view of lack of FCC SW enforcement. Some rapid-clicking QRM for a minute or two until 0134. 0137 yes, B-S-R- ID by YL and QSL offer prompting guesses about the musical topic, like last week it was ``green``, but I don`t recognize any of the tunes this week until 0152, ``Who Ya Gonna Call?``, a song with spoken parts, faux phone number sounded like 1-500-989-3500. 0200 again asking for reports, signing off? Not quite, more music, then 0205 SSTV now hitting S9+10. Pause and 0207 another SSTV image ending at 0209 and carrier off at 0209.5*. Now let`s see what others reported at: [www.hfunderground.com] Keyword has been ``call`` and SSTV shows `Get Smart` with shoephone (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** Insane Radio

3/27, 0027, 6930usb. Interesting jazz piano version of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Pac Man game sounds & dogs barking, pause, bit more piano music into a synth woman’s voice talking about a variety of things – although the signal was adequate the voice was mostly unintelligible – little dog barking, SSTV (Large furry white dog with his paw up – “hi”). I had to leave the room a while and came back to an SSTV broadcasting (Outhouse’s avatar with “Outhouse Radio.”) Into a long rock guitar jam with a waterfall image of the avatar at one point. Program of hard rock, ID’s by Outhouse with occasional dog barks over songs. Ending section: SSTV (6 attractive women talking in to tide from behind,) waterfall of the avatar with ”mucho loco,” SSTV (Setting sun through a single pine tree,) Bluco’s “Setting Sun” (Pee Wee’s favorite song,) ID over song, “one more,” nice electronic blues, 0139 off. (Taylor – WI)

3/27, 0036-0139, 6930usb. A show of slow scan images, barking dog, and music. At 0053, there was a song that was like that of the Allman Brothers. Male announcer was talking about Al Fansome. ID at the top of hour and 0130. Went off with a blues song. Good signal (Majewski CT)

4/1, 2355-2357, 6933usb. Instrumental music then a data stream opened on the frequency and the broadcast ended. (Fair, Hunsicker, PA)

4/2, 0042-0104, 6930am. Instrumental music but a weak signal. Mostly unusable. After 0051 the carrier was visible on the waterfall but nothing was heard. (Hunsicker, PA)

4/2, 0056-0104, 6933usb. A male announcer, some classical music, start of a report of the German invasion of Poland, the end of the Cold War and financial times, tower clock strikes the time, another clock does the same, and another. Into a program of rock music, talk and ID’s between every song, dog barks and howls over songs from time to time. Broadcast suddenly off between 0031 – 0035 then came back with same programming. Signal went from fair to fair to good before signal started deteriorating after 0035 re sign on before going off for good at 0210. (Taylor – WI)

3/27, 2349, 6925usb. With Barrington Hills IL kiwi sdr, fair/weak signal, hear song "sweet home Chicago", song "Allentown", switched to Dixon IL kiwi sdr with same fair/weak results, at 0016 "Waterloo sunset", improved to fair on Dixon IL kiwi sdr, CW ID (?) at 0019, the Doors "LA woman". (Hassig-IL)

3/28, 0015-0026, 6925usb. At 0015, dense rock music at S6-S9, 0019 overridden by surprise CW ID (or QRM?) as W#OG -- pretty sure of three letters but not the second one. And CW again a few minutes later, 0026 as music is ending, stops and apparently off. More logs here for WDOG: [www.hfunderground.com] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Old WEAK program with punk rock, many ID’s and fake ads, part way through 2 SSTV from Outhouse (Dead head, space scene with “I miss WEAK Radio. Outhouse Radio”) then back to the WEAK program. Just before the end of the WEAK program at 2218 there was a waterfall image of Outhouse’s avatar. A few seconds later another waterfall image of Outhouse’s avatar. Off. Started out poor and improved to good with some deterioration to fair (QRN) near the end. (Taylor – WI)

3/27, 2145-2150+, 6933usb. Hard rock at tune-in to 2147 “WEAK” SID & “I’m a good monkey” into a monkey ditty. SIO=353 Probably not the same as the two different WEAKs operating in the early 2000s (Frodge-MI)

3/27, 2157, 6933usb. At 2157, dense pirate music, hard to pinpoint frequency with no carrier clue; soon ID as ``You are listening to one of the world`s weakest radios -- W-E-A-K``. Too modest, not so weak at S8-S9. More reports here: [www.hfunderground.com]

== European Shortwave ==

** KR1 (Holland)

3/29, 1611-1654, 6285am. KR1 (Holland) Program with golden oldies and ID’s. ID as “This is KR1 Radio..King of Shortwave from the jewel of Holland” and e-mail address for reports. This was heard via a SDR site in SW England. (Kusalik-AB)

** The Vault

I hear The Vault regularly, but not so well that I can actually ID it. If you live on the East Coast and don't have the noise that I do, I think that you might have some luck. I tried with a Wellbrook (Aimed at 50 degrees, which should be good for Ireland, the UK, Germany, and Bulgaria) and a DXE Engineering amplified vertical and it was very close to being "Poor" or "Fair." (Hunsicker, PA)

3/31, 2348-0006, 6985am. The Vault (tentative). Too faint to understand anything other than there was music and, at times, someone was talking. (Hunsicker, PA)

4/1, 2301-2332, 6985am. As reported on HFU. Never got an ID, Good Lovin’, but the rest was too weak to understand. (Hunsicker, PA)
