== North American Shortwave ==

** Ballsmacker Radio

5/15, 0100, 6960am. ID, “Ride like the wind,” a shorter piece, ID, “Magic carpet ride,” into program with “ride” themed music and lots of ID’s. Poor improving to fair as evening went on. (Taylor – WI)

5/15, 0104-0148, 6960am. SSTV @ 0228. Music with a ride/riding theme and an ID. (35433, Hunsicker, PA)

5/15, 0114, 6960am. With Barrington Hills IL sdr, poor noisy signal due to rain approaching, at 0115 DJ said "Ball smacker Radio at proton mail dot com", Doors "riders on the storm", at 0118 momentary UTE QRM, at 0131 Wagner's "ride of the Valkyrie". (Hassig-IL)

5/15, 0125-0140, 6960am. Show with songs with Ride in them. Bachmann Turner Overdrive Let it ride, Ride of the Valkyrie, Jan & Dean Ride the Wild Road, Poor Signal, faded at 0140 (Majewski CT)

5/16, 0150, 4030usb. On Dixon IL sdr, fair/poor signal, rock instrumental playing then the usual bowling sound effects, etc. (Hassig-IL)

** Fox News Relay

5/15, 2020, 6970am. Sean Spammity blathering on and on and on. Fair signal. (Will-MD)

5/20, 0058, 6970am. Presumed Fox News relay with a commercial break. Fair signal. (Will-MD)

** Good Times Radio

5/15, 2312, 6925usb. On Dixon IL sdr, weak but clear signal, Chicago: "Saturday in the park", also weak but clear on Barrington Hills IL sdr. (Hassig-IL)

** Mix Radio International

5/15-16, 2346-0024, 6965usb. Monstrous signal: 55555. Burnin' Down the House, I Don't Like Mondays, White Wedding, Money. Asks us to wait for a program from Cool Radio. (Hunsicker, PA)

5/15, 2358, 6865usb. On Dixon IL sdr, fair signal, unid rock tune playing, waterfall shows 5kz wide signal but I'm only allowed to hear up to 2.5kz. (Hassig-IL)

5/16, 0034, 6865usb. ID, contemporary dance music mentioning “radio” frequently into more music with frequent ID’s. Listened off and on through the evening. Later relaying Cool AM Radio from the Netherlands. There was a squeal here about 6961 which made listening confined to a smaller bandwidth than Mix’s normally wide bandwidth, none the less good reception until after 0200 when I pulled the plug. (Taylor – WI)

5/16, 0049. 6865am. At 0049, pirate music at S9 vs storm noise; 0053 crossfade to anther tune; 0053 YL talx over mx, ``Thank you for listening to Mix Radio`` - not International, 0056 record offer like a commercial; 0125 still going. Many more logs here, a few matching my details: [www.hfunderground.com] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** Nowhere Radio

5/11, 0048, 6975am. Drum beats and occasional tones right at the static floor, music comes with a barely audible ID into more nondescript music, 0105 talk & ID (“No f’kin where Radio” into guitar rock. Poor at best. (Taylor – WI)

5/13, 0045, 6974.913am. 0045, S6-S7 of weak music, undermodulated, CODAR QRM. Presumably Nowhere Radio again on signature off-frequency. Two more tentative logs: [www.hfunderground.com] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** Planet Z

5/15, 2155-2246, 6930usb. SSTV @ 2254. Pop music, including Black Betty. SSTV @ 2225, 2227, and 2229. (35454, Hunsicker, PA)

5/15, 2246, 6930usb. On Dixon IL sdr, fair signal, song "stand by me", at 2251½ SSTV/FAX and another at 2254 then slow dramatic orchestral music, at 2259 old protest song "there's a man with a gun over there" then CCR "bad moon rising". (Hassig-IL)

** Radio 48

5/11, 0036, 6925usb. Chaotic song, rap, ID reggae, ID (“Radio 48. The station that cares with a difference.”) conceptual rock. Fair. (Taylor – WI)

** Some Radio

5/10, 0035, 6930usb. Started out with poor signal and improved as broadcast went on. Rock, hoarse, low voiced OM with a few words, ID some incomprehensible words or sounds into hard rock with talking over parts of the song, OM w/ lots of profanity, ID, punk, nonsense talk, more hard rock, DJ slurring "I don't know what is going on here," more hard rock, “need more antennas,” Clapton, "Cocaine" (Grateful Dead), bluegrass w/ “there’s those banjos again,” someradio @protonmail.com, 0128 ID, hard rock, beer cans all over (sounds like he was the one to empty them,) wants his knob off his radio back into a clever little bit mentioning Outhouse, Captain Morgan, and several other pirates, "Black Betty,” Pulled the plug at this point. Fair by the end. (Taylor – WI)

** Unid

5/13, 0041, 6930usb. At 0041, pirate music at S5-S7, 0059 maybe announcement over music, still 0106+. Much louder signal than the 6974.914-AM station tho metering about the same. Several more logs as unID: [www.hfunderground.com] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

5/20, 0055, 6929usb. Radio Moscow 1040am deejay sound bytes and music bits, and off at 0057. (Will-MD)

5/20, 0058, 6970am. Presumed Fox News relay with a commercial break. Fair signal. (Will-MD)

** Wolverine Radio

5/16, 0002, 6960usb. On Dixon IL sdr, good signal with low noise, hear old acoustically recorded 78 rpm record then woman singing blues tune, Wolverine ID just after 0010utc, nice variety of songs having to do with traveling by various modes such as "slow boat to China" and "last train to Clarksville" etc, at 0108 echo ID then SSTV/FAX, thanks for the show. (Hassig-IL)

5/16, 0024-0108, 6960usb. Transportation theme, and ID and SSTV @ 0108. (Hunsicker, PA)

5/16, 0028, 6960usb. ID, “Sloop John B,” “Bus stop,” “Magic bus,” ID, “Wooden ships,” into a program of transportation themed songs (airliners, taxis, etc.) with an ID every 3rd song, 0107 “echo” ID, SSTV which did not decode here despite good signal. (Taylor – WI)

5/16, 0050, 6960am. At 0050, Petula Clark, ``Don`t Sleep on the Subway``, S9+10; 0059 ``Wolverine Radio``. Many more logs here headed 6960-USB but certainly AM for me: [www.hfunderground.com] No one contradicted USB, tho some admired the audio. Theme was various modes of transportation. Off at my 0125 check. Had ended at 0109 with SSTV; three images posted, one of them sharp, of a Model T traffic jam (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** WTF Radio

5/15, 0028, 6860am. Fair/poor signal on Dixon IL sdr, hear old pock tune "rebel rebel", DJ talking, song "I'm not in love and don't forget it", same results with Barrington Hills sdr, at 0049 DJ said "this is WTF radio broadcasting from the east coast", increasing static. (Hassig-IL)

5/15, 0043-0116, 6860am. Gone at 0128. Dream Weavers, Golden Years, a Beatles tune, and IDs and chatter. (35443, Hunsicker, PA)

5/15, 0117, 6860am. Pop music, ID rock, DJ talking about the music ending with a quick ID and into the next song. Poor. (Taylor – WI)

** YHWH

5/16, 1730, 11910am. Anti-Christian religious pirate, in progress at tune-in. Usual monologue by easily recognizable voice of "Josiah Elias". Sudden fadedown the second I reported it to groups (typical Murphy's Law), but at 1735, Days of Hard Life song came thru the static. 1830 recheck had improved signal, Ten Commandments routine, and Days of Hard Life replay at 1845 & off. SIO 343 (Barton - AZ)

5/16, 1731, 11910am. At 1731, JBA carrier direct tnx to Rick Barton tip at 1728 on WOR iog that YHWH is on NOW on 11910. Then I check the Phoenix/Surprise AZ KiwiSDR near him, but also JBA carrier. Then to Corinne, northern Utah, where reception is good! S8-S9 but occasional deep slow fades, carrier offset -10 to -11 Hz, and near 100% readable; at tune-in with `Days of Hard Life` theme so thought he was about to close, but instead opening. ``Josiah Elias`` introduces *tonight`s* lexure, at 1740 ``Christianity - Greatest Hoax Ever``. He`s *so* sure of himself, replacing one source of irrationality with another. 1803 ID again and subtitle, continues about conventional Bible being ``phony`` by the ``Christianity cult``. Pronounced ``yah-ha-VAY``. Still going at 1816 when I break for lunch of gumbo with extra okra; still on at 1836, but off by next check 1859 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** The Vault

5/11, 2353, 6985am. Just barely audible music, announcement at ToH (likely ID,) music, 0005 signal came up to an audible ID into music with fade out about 0008. My first catch of this direct. (Taylor – WI)

== FM ==

** Maryland

5/19, 1800-1900, 90.3fm. The long running classic pop music station is still active in southern Frederick, Maryland, with the strongest signal in the Ballanger Creek/Buckeystown Pike area. Signal faded out traveling south on Maryland 355 towards Urbana, but appeared again south and east or Urbana, around 8-10 miles from the Ballanger Creek area. I noticed this before and thought that this might be two stations, but now I think it's the same pirate, as the signal peaked around the "Urbana Highlands" development. The station runs a jukebox of classic hits from the 1960s to the present with full quieting between songs. Today's fare featured My Maria by Brooks and Dunn, Spill the Wine by War, Love Machine by The Miracles, and a wide variety of music. Signal variable, fair to very good. (Will-MD)
