Broadbanded 75M jammer?

December 09, 2018 12:21AM
Checking out the AM crowd on 3880 / 3885kHz, and since 04:00UTC I've noticed this broadband rip that sounds like a metal grinder. I first heard it about an S3, now it peaks to about +S9 here in WV at 06:00UTC . WA1HLR in ME hears it from 3850kHz to 3940kHz. K4KYV hears it well in Central TN. (These two are about the only two big guns that can QSO with each other over this.) Whatever this is, it obliterates all but the full legal powered AM QSO'ers. QRP'ers and barefooters are left in the dust of this. Anyone hopping from on-line SDR stations to check this out? Suspicion is that it's coming from Europe. Weird... Especially how it seems centered around the AM portion of the amateur 75M band.
