Um... How about the spectrum-wide noise levels on Medium Wave? That's still kind of a factor. And, more AM Radio World responses. The info on what happened to Leonard Kahn is interesting. THANKS again, for FWD that Boomer!by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Even since early February, that W.O.G. antenna has come in very handy, and is being well tested, due to constant Southern T-storms. So, this last blast of Winter-like weather for May 2023 maybe one last time to enjoy the low bands with less noise.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Too little, too late to go whaaaaaaaaaaaa???by ThaDood - General radio discussion
So, what does anyone think about this? Too little INFO, and just too generic of a site, if you ask me.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
In know... He does it more of the 'layman's-terms' way of doing it, where we want actual spec's, like Usable Sensitivity, (In uV.), Image Rejection, Adjacent Channel Rejection, AGC thresholds for AM, IF bandwidths, Audio FREQ responses, Audio Amp Power, etc. Then again, I guess you need what Radio Jay does, since the preceding spec's that I've mentioned, if you were to ask the average, nonby ThaDood - The Workshop
Our local LPFM where I am, WTSQ-LP 88.1FM, has done Vinyl-thon / Record Store Day, for the last few years. This year, they planned to spin-it all vinyl for a 52hr, all live DJ's, on-air marathon. I've linked-in to that before, via our crappy DSL internet streaming link. Sounds good, due to their high bitstream, but then comes the problems of maintaining that with DSL, many drop-outs and robbing bby ThaDood - General radio discussion
I've thought about using the LM**** series of voltage regulators as AM modulators, but never thought that they could be useful at RF FREQ's. FWR by Boomer:by ThaDood - The Workshop
Well, this is a cool article that Boomer FWR to me! And, using an O'scope to test an LPB-30 transmitter.by ThaDood - The Workshop
Last year, after JTA swearing to me to try this, I've decides to make another W.O.G., (Windom On GND.). The feed point is a W2DU 4:1 Current Balun, one W.O.G. 60ft leg runs down hill, into the valley floor, and away from the power lines, and the other 123ft leg is hugging the hill point, then head down hill. I also have a GND tap on the Balun at the outer SO-239. Then, about a 50ft run on leftoveby ThaDood - The Workshop
While Boomer was at it, he FWR me this as well: Wouldn't work well mobile, or portably, but this idea is kind of what CATV had done for a couple of decades now.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Boomer found these. Anyone ever had experience with these TX's? The AM units could be used for Part 15 Carrier-Current, but couldn't really use the FM's for anything permissibly here.by ThaDood - The Workshop

Boomer caught it, Hobby Broadcasting Radio #4, HB#4, off his Kiwi-SDR. There, y'all can listen to it, before I do.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
While I was on SWL'ing, came across this: OK... We all knew that this was coming.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Huh... Been a while since I've seen any surveys on radio gear. Just some heads-up that you have to scroll down to about mid-page for the survey choices and those DOT's to fill in.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Got these, thanks to Boomer! I don't think that this was posted before here, but it is now. This next link may have been talked about, but it is a neat read.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Well, I can't go, (Maybe the next decade.), but here's INFO on that.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Still, fun reads, for sure. For AM: For FM:by ThaDood - The Workshop
Boomer FWR me the link to this company. Some neat reading here indeed. Question is, will they be able to run with any of these ideas?by ThaDood - The Workshop
I think that these were covered before, but they are intriguing. Hmmmmmmmmm... I wonder how were they'd work for the 160M band?by ThaDood - The Workshop
An article, in Radio World, But, more from the dude, Bill De Felice, from Hobby Broadcaster.net: Not, to be confused with Andrew Yoder's Hobby Broadcasting.com .by ThaDood - General radio discussion
I´ve 1st seen this from SWL´ing, but a friend of mine FWR the direct link.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Boomer FWR me this: A 1978 article on 49MHz Part 15 band. And then, this VID: WOW!!!! Does all this bring back memories of 49MHz stories of, walkie-talkies, cordless phones, and baby monitors. Certainly, made it worth having a scanner, with a good VHF Low antenna, in the 1980´s. (Hi-hi...) Still, this band could be great to use, now. Like this dude did: Years ago, I´ve audio modifiby ThaDood - The Workshop
Uh-huh... Tis that time for this one: Lack of foliage helps out on 2M, on up, to get out. And, maybe 6M F2 this year. Then, the following week: Now, the question is whether those Southern T-storms will settle down by then, and not rip-up the lower HF bands with crashes at night. And then, AM Rally:by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Oh, COOL!!!! THANKS, and good to know. There´s been requests for these, and as I finally get time to MP3-´em, from cassettes and MD´s, I hope to upload more. As far as I´m concern, anyone can use these. (Hopefully, for good reasons. Hi-hi...) Thanks, for the info.by ThaDood - Announcements
Looks like the AM Rally is earlier this year, just after GHD: Hopefully, 20M, on up, will be rockin´ this year. Question is, can they ever get anyone to agree on a 2M AM FREQ? I haven´t heard anything about W1AW doing the event, yet. And, anyone got word on that Heavy Metal AM Rally. Those are fun, if you can catch when they are.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
Wow!!! 27MHz CB was hoping, especially CH38LSB, from midnight to 2:30AM, (0500UTC - 0730UTC, 12/30/2022), with a direct pipeline to Texas. On 10M??? Just a beacon, or two, but no operating stations. All, on 11M. So, was 6M open last night?by ThaDood - General radio discussion
. Well, after requests for this one, I´ve put it up there, the one from September 1992. I just can´t believe that´s over 30 years ago, now. Yeeeeeeeeeeesh....by ThaDood - General radio discussion
I say, let HAM´s do it. Then, we can get credit for ultra rare DX. (Hi-hi...) At least, this helps them to focus upon not burning holes in the atmosphere, or trying to change the weather, so they can have at it. Huh... Looks like we need to bug them for what frequencies they are going to use. UPDATE: Ah... Hereś more details on date and FREQ´s.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
If Auroras don´t kill 10M propagation, maybe we can hear what this dude did.by ThaDood - General radio discussion
