The Kiwi is a darn good product, Animal, I sometimes think maybe I should save my shekels and look into getting one. The TDOA capability alone is interesting.
Like it or not, I've found that I use analog receivers less and less as time goes on. The SDRs have eaten their lunch a long ago. (I said in an MT article back in the early 00's that SDRs were going to be the coming thing almost at a commodity board level and that the software for them was going to be the value added bit of 'em.)
There are times when I wish it was the early 70's again and I was a teenager living in London (UK) who sat up nights listening to his old Marconi CR-100... ...back then I lived in the heart of the city on the top (fifth) floor of a U-shaped apartment block. Had a 300 foot long wire stretched between the arms of that building at that level and nary a peep of interference. Now I have devices with performance and funcrions that even state governments couldn't provide back then but interference levels that are still horrible even in the rural area I now live in. And far fewer stations to listen to.
Oh well.
