The Free Radio Weekly (FRW) is an internet newsletter devoted to the hobby of listening to free radio "pirate" broadcasters in the shortwave radio bands. The FRW is produced by the free radio community and distributed to those who contribute.

The weekly deadline is Saturdays at 0000 UTC (Friday night in North America). Please send your logs to all the editors, as our editing schedule is subject to last minute changes. Thank you for your inputs!

1/8, 2131-2147+, 6930.3usb. Rock ditties & SSTVs; “How many knobs are on your radio?”, “Are you a point and click kind of guy?” ID @2146:43. SIO=3+43 w/beep & screech QRM (Frodge-MI)

1/7, 2219-2222+, 6945usb. Rock music & ID. SIO=454- (Frodge-MI)

1/7, 2334, 4015usb. On Normal IL sdr, fair S9 signal, hear pop music, tuned in locally at 2337utc with strong S9+20 signal, dropped sdr since local is so much better which is unusual. (Hassig-IL)

1/9, 2053-2059+, 6955usb. DJ Dickweed took a phone call from Richard who sounded very confused about why he called; took another call about his car warranty; DJ said he only drives a garden tractor. Phone is the Bunker Hot line & sounded like 302-689-3207...needed to speak slower; 2059 into tunes. SIO=454- (Frodge-MI)

** Screaming Man Radio

1/7, 2344, 6935am. In Normal IL sdr, see carrier on waterfall but hear no audio, at 0000utc tuned in locally and hear weak audio in usb mode. (Hassig-IL)

** WDOG

1/8, 1648-1806+, 6925usb. Armchair copy most of the time, although took a major fade (maybe went off) for a few minutes around 1730 UT. Great rock tunes by Talking Heads, Chumbawamba, Tal Bachman and many more. Frequent ID by OM and the usual dogs wailing. All around good show. Had to turn it off to go out and shovel snow. (Gay-KY)

1/8, 1653-1750, 6925usb. Barking dogs often barking. OM offered the possibility to win The Gold Fire Hydrant for listeners who could guess the theme of the music being played. (45454, Hunsicker, PA)
