The Free Radio Weekly (FRW) is an internet newsletter devoted to the hobby of listening to free radio "pirate" broadcasters in the shortwave radio bands. The FRW is produced by the free radio community and distributed to those who contribute.

The weekly deadline is Saturdays at 0000 UTC (Friday night in North America). Please send your logs to all the editors, as our editing schedule is subject to last minute changes. Thank you for your inputs!

11/29, 0051, 6925am. Man with familiar rock, synth woman “Coastal Rock Radio” into a rock ballad, Carole King other rock music … Fair at peaks, although fading out at times. (Taylor-WI)

12/3, 2115, 6925.3am. Music, Jefferson Airplane, Somebody To Love; Three Dog Night, Old Fashioned Love Song. ID at 2121 "This is coastal rock radio" and into music by Pink Floyd. Radar Love at 2215. Clear "Coastal Rock Radio" ID at 2216. s3/s5. (Will-MD)

** Fox News Relay

12/3, 2207, 6970am. Political talk in English, with just bits and pieces coming up over the noise threshold. Music, probably a commercial, at 2209. At 2211, a commercial for some dubious medical product or drug. Probably the Fox News relay noted here many times before. (Will-MD)

** This Is Not WBCQ

12/3, 2334, 5115am. Music, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B. ID at 2336, "This Is Not WBCQ" and into an old timey version of "Ain't We Got Fun." ID again at 2339, "No, this is not WBCQ." Music, Max Frost and the Troopers, Things to Come, at 2346. "This is the Jay Smilkstein Memorial Broadcast System. May we have another minute?" twice at 2345, and off. s7/s9, very good, with some deep fades. (Will-MD)

** Truth Radio International

11/27, 1407, 6925am. Upbeat jazz music. Truth Radio International IDs at 1411. MLK I have a dream speech excerpt at 1412. Obama speech excerpt at 1416. Beepbuzz utility interference at 1434. Robot voice IDs at 1450. 1454, MFSB, The sound of Philadelphia, and suddenly off in mid-song. Good signal, s7/s9, somewhat low modulation. (Will-MD)

** Yeah Man Radio

11/27, 1617, 6925am. Yeah Man Radio. Music, Joni Mitchell, Both Sides Now. Spinning Wheel at 1622. "Solid gold weekend" at 1619. Yeah Man Radio ID at 1623, into Age of Aquarius. Fair signal, s5/s7. (Will-MD)

11/27, 2243, 6920am. S8-S6 of undermodulated music, some pirate. Nothing reported now in HFU but R. Pushka after 0025? [www].hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,89612.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

11/28, 0043-0048, 6925am. Carrier 10 to 20 dB above the noise. Early, an OM was talking but was not understandable. Later, there was just the carrier. (unusable, Hunsicker, PA)

11/29, 0000-0014, 6925am. "Green-Eyed Lady" then unusable. For a bit, the carrier about 20 dB above the noise. (unusable, Hunsicker, PA)

11/29, 2105-2244, 6925am. Carrier was about 10 dB above the noise. For a short period it was "poor," but it was "unusable" most of the time. Talking and music were heard, but nothing was understandable. Did hear "Walk Like an Egyptian" from the music. (unusable, Hunsicker, PA)

11/29, 2235-2240, 6925am. Pop music at/just over QRN; comments @2236+ but no copy & some fisherperson QRM. Best in LSB. Probably Coastal Rock Radio, another pointless music pirate. (Frodge-MI)

11/29, 2324, 6925am and 6919.9am. VP signals, traces of music, I keep getting if nothing else on the pirate band. HFUnderground today has a number of unID reports on 6925, 2101-2420: [www].hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,89702.0.html and then 0015-0216+ as Coastal Rock Radio, maybe not the same one: [www].hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,89710.0.html and nothing on 6919.9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

12/1, 0011, 6919.9am. unID JBA music, only pirate now, none on 6925 for a change. Nothing reported now in HFU, even as ``6920`` where there have been some logs recently at other times (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
