Ballsmacker Radio

4030 PIRATE (No. Am.) Ballsmacker Radio, 0100, 10/30/21. Tuned in just as initial ID started into a pop song. The band was so noisy and signal poor that I couldn’t stay with it. (Taylor – WI)

4030/AM Ballsmacker Radio with a ‘pretty’ theme show including lots of pop rock stuff with the word “Pretty”or “Beautiful” in the title including “Pretty Ballerina” by The Left Banke John Lennon “Pretty Boy” Bob Seger’s “Beautiful Loser” and Ed Sheeran “Beautiful People” among many others. Bowling” Sound effects and IDs occasionally throughout, and ending with a SSTV image: 33+432+ sometimes sneaking up to ‘fair’. Better by end -- up to 3+4+443+ when the intermittent digital slop had ended. 0122-0212* 30/Oct RSPdx +SDRuno +Multimode for the SSTV, +ANC-4 +random wire --Zichi MI

X-FM

11/1, 0010, 4185am. X-FM with talk and music. ID at 0016. Fair/good, s7/s9. Timtron WA1HLR also heard this broadcast; in conversation, Tim says he's the "best sounding pirate I've ever heard," says he mentioned him on the show; XFM is running 600 watts, most likely a homebrew transmitter, into a 53 foot vertical with 12 radials. (Will-MD)

4185 AM PIRATE (No. Am.) X-FM, 0002, 10/30/21. Electronic music, clip from a movie, “Everybody knows,” then Redhat welcoming listeners and into talk about this program being an all record program … first for 8 years, gave an 800 number for call ins and requests, several accurate time checks and many ID’s into an evening of older vinyl music, good DJ talk, accurate time checks, ID’s and usual well produced and executed programming. Still going at 0130 when I last checked. Very good. (Taylor – WI)

4185/AM$ X-FM with that nice sounding Wideband aud0 Playing everything from Golden Earring’s “Twilight Zone” going up to the last song Depeche Mode “Stripped” ain between email address, phone number for people to call in, and LOTS of shout-outs, and general chit-chat including live time checks in UTC etc. It is pretty amazing how good this station sound and one of these days I’m going to have to figure out how to get my CQUAM software to talk to my ‘new ’SDR so I can decode this in stereo 454+44 0027-0242* 1/Nov RSPdx +SDRuno +ANC-4+randomwire --Zichi MI

X-FM, 4185am, 10-30-21, 0003 on Normal IL sdr, S9+10 to S9+30 signal but much power line hash, song "everybody knows" by Leonard Cohen, I'm listening in QAM and hearing it in stereo, song "squeezebox", fired up local receiver and actually getting good S9+20 reception here at home but without power line hash, at 0027utc tuned on on Peoria IL sdr with clean S9+20 and listening in CQUAM stereo, at 0035utc switched to Champaign IL sdr with even cleaner S9+20+ signal and listening in glorious CQUAM stereo, BTW, local reception has dropped to S9 with noise, at 0110 song "werewolves of London", thanks for the nice program. (Edit) Later I turned around on my Sony 2010 and heard XFM with just a rod antenna, signal varied between fair and poor. (Hassig-IL)

X-FM, 4185am, 11-01-21, 0151utc on Normal IL sdr, good S9+20 to S9+30 signal, listening in CQUAM stereo, unfortunately there is also some power line hash, also got fair to good reception on my DX440 with 10 foot wire clipped to rod antenna but without power line hash, the primary in my neighborhood is only 2400/4160 instead of 7200/12470 like most places, nice selection of tunes, thanks. (Hassig-IL)

Voice of next Thursday

4185 AM PIRATE (No. Am.) The voice of next Thursday, 0044, 10/31/21. Program of short vocal story or commentary with unusual goofy song. I found the voiced sections to be hard to understand (and comprehend.) 0111 ID sequence with e-mail address, off key singing, another ID sequence, “How the world works” – Bo Burnham, roaring, 0125 off. Good to very good. (Taylor – WI)

Voice of next Thursday, 4185am, 10-31-21, tuned in at 0056 locally, fair S9+10 signal with good fidelity, comedy bit, doowop tune. (Hassig-IL)

Zeeky

6925 USB PIRATE (No. Am.) Zeeky, 0025, 10/26/21. Zeeky ranting about other pirates, listeners (mostly getting their names wrong), “The big money” – Rush, “Manhattan Project” – Rush, long pause, “the band’s gone out” and ended show, screams and spooky sounds, off. Signal fair. Zeeky’s rant was most unpleasant attacking pirates and listeners. Quite alienating. (Taylor – WI)

Goat Herder Radio

6931 USB PIRATE (No. Am.) Goat Herder Radio, 2345, 10/24/21. “Here we go,” two waterfall images (missed the 1st, 2nd was face of a goat,) Zeeky rambling, buzzing sound of frequency – probably getting jammed. Music under. Pulled the plug then. Fair until buzzing started, then poor. (Taylor – WI)

Outhouse Radio

6935 USB PIRATE (No. Am.) Outhouse Radio, 2344, 10/29/21. Music, which faded out at 2353. Others got an SSTV of a ghostly figure with “Outhouse Radio.” Back at 2356 with hard rock, Outhouse either saying this was a Halloween special or he was going to do one then music. 0022 into a Halloween novelty song into a poorly received section of chain saw or aircraft buzzing, gunning motorcycles, etc. SSTv (Black man with “Who are your wearing?”) then fading up and down with music, 3 more sends of the same SSTV and a waterfall image (griffin), SSTV of a dog with “This is a weird station” with Outhouse coming on with “yes, this is a weird station.” Some talk, 1 more song, waterfall image of the griffin, more music, an unfamiliar digital mode and off. Fading from inaudible to fair. (Taylor – WI)

6950 USB PIRATE (No. Am.) Outhouse Radio, 2339, 10/30/21. Growls, farts, moans, evil laughter and other scary sfx with bits of music ati times, SSTV (rat on a pumpkin pie “It’s a pie rat’s life for me”), vfx, “Free Falling,” into a series of SSTV with rock between – 3 kids dressed as ghosts with pumpkins, ghostly figure in a doorway, hand sticking out from the dirt in a graveyard with “Outhouse Radio,” moon with ghost, creepy face with “Livin’ in a paradise”, witch in front of a full moon with “Outhouse Radio”, off shortly thereafter. (Taylor – WI)

6955/USB Outhouse Radio although -- I didn’t hear anything resembling an ID until the very end of their transmission. The music was ‘Halloween themed’ w/Ministry’s “Every day is Halloween (Remix)” and Bauhaus “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” at 2255. At 2301 back to Everyday Is Halloween again and at 2305-07 a LONG SSTV image: which I assume is the cover art for “Billy’ Dead” by Deadbolt which was played at: 17 after yet ANOTHER playing of “Every day is Halloween” Another (brief) SSTV at 2316 which I couldn’t get a *clear* decode of but others on HFU did and it had ‘Outhouse Radio’ on the slide. There was FINALLY an audio ID just before hi final SSTV image at 0023: 3543+3 2243-2320 31/Oct and again 0022-0024*1/Nov RSPdx +SDRuno +ANC4 +Multimode +random wire --Zichi MI

Rave on Radio

6945 USB PIRATE (No. Am.) Rave on Radio, 2335, 10/30/21. Music with talk, eventually op gave a series of ID’s of which 1 was audible. Hard to listen to with high QRN and a tine about 6946.2 which moved .2 kHz every so often, so it was difficult to notch out. (Taylor – WI)
