       on same freq, various tunes with the word "back" in
       them, made announcement at 0009 that he'd move to
       6965usb, @0019 switched to Normal IL sdr with fair
       S9 signal, blues song Get off my back baby by BB King,
       Back to the family by Jethro Tull, @0033 switched back
       to Barrington Hills sdr with good S9+10 signal, @0059
       echo ID then SSTV/FAX, thanks for the nice program.

       6960-AM continues much softer altho also reading S9+10,
       tho 6965-USB now peaks at S9+20. 0025 ID as Wolverine
       Radio on the upper one. I guess for a while before I
       tuned in there was a clash on 6960, altho I only heard
       one. These reports say it was Wolverine moving from 6960
       to 6965, keyword ``back`` in song titles: [www].

10/15, 1344-1347, 6925/U; Tuned in just in time to hear a
       song by R.E.M. Then off suddenly. Someone on HFU said
       it had IDed as WREM. Peaking 10 dB over S9 in central
       Kentucky with almost no fading. (Gay-KY)

       fading. Good lineup of R.E.M. tunes & ID by OM (Gay-KY)

Ron Hunsicker: The local background noise seems a bit higher
across the board (And the boiler was not running--see below);
something that surprised me.

In the "Good News" department, we had a new boiler installed--
a high efficiency unit with a PVC pipe flue--and it does not
appear to have much of an RFI signature.  Although there are
long runs of wire to our seven zones (!), there is no digital
signal, just a low-voltage contact at the thermostat end that
activates a real or virtual relay at the control end which
turns on a circulation pump.  As a check, I forced the boiler
to fire-up, did a band scan and then turned it off and did
another scan and eye-balled no difference.  A relief after
many stories on the rfi listserve of variable speed fan motors
and their associated electronics in furnaces creating rfi-hell
in many homes.

It was odd that Truth Radio Int’l and the unidentified station
reported below appeared to sign-off at the same time--the two
patterns were on the waterfall, side-by-side, and the carriers
disappeared at the same time.
