North American shortwave stations

77 Lima Juliet Sierra

77 Lima Juliet Sierra, 12/17, 1614-1711*, 6930usb. Via a recording, a program in progress with light Jazz. Enjoyed the program. 3000 Hz was good. A nasty band of noise moved slowly down through the channel. ID at 1618. (35342, Hunsicker, PA)

77 Lima Juliet Sierra, 12/18, 2211-2316*, 6930usb. Via a recording, the program opened with a Blues tune. A delightful program of the music of Charlie Patton, an old-time Blues singer. Op promised more Charlie Patton in future broadcasts. Fat band of noise sharing the channel. Transmitter “B” was used. 3000 Hertz might have been a bit broad. (35342, Hunsicker, PA)

77 Lima Juliet Sierra(?), 12-19-23, 2325, 6930usb. Via the Barrington Hills IL with fair S7 signal, wild jazz music, at 2330 switched to Traverse City MI sdr with fair S9-S9+10 signal, more wild jazz. (Hassig, IL)

An I D Radio

An I D Radio, 12/15, 0052-0109*, 6920usb. Via a recording, a program in progress with a news program from 14 December (said to be Fox, per HFU). A YL gave a grudging ID at 0109. (35353, Hunsicker, PA)

An I D Radio, 12/19, 0022-0116*, 6920usb. Via a recording, the program started with Techno Rap, some doors, Wolly Bully, Look What’s Going Down, and Freestyle Music. IDs by a YL at 0043, 0102, and 0116. 3000 Hz fit perfectly. (35353, Hunsicker, PA)

An I D Radio, 12/20, 2332-2247, 6920usb. Via a recording, the program opened with a song about eating a lot of peaches. The play list moved to Rap. Stopped listening well before the program ended, which was reported to be 0300. (35453, Hunsicker, PA)

An I D Radio, 12/20 @ 12/21, 2333, 6920usb. Via the Brookfield WI sdr with fair S9 signal, rock music the blues and rap, at 2358 "stand by me" at 0010 "Chantilly lace" by Big Bopper, down to S7 at 0042, thanks for the program. (Hassig, IL)

Ion Radio, 12/17, 1614-1625*, 6955am. Via a recording, a program in progress with a Christmas carol. ID at 1624 was just usable. Most of the program was on the cusp of usable / unusable. 8000 Hz covered it. (25342, Hunsicker, PA)

Mix Radio International

Mix Radio International, 12/16, 2140-2225, 6865 to 6858 to 6855am. The changes in frequency seemed to be designed to avoid CRI on 6865. Pop music. 20,000 Hz was too wide; 15,000 was likely too narrow but it kept CRI at bay. (43443, Hunsicker, PA)

Mystery Science Radio

Mystery Science Radio via Cloudsplitter Radio, 12/18, 2214-2244*, 6938usb. Via a recording, the program opened with a few chords of music, then a voiced movie theme. Daleks discussed at length. Predictions of the future. Meditation promoting relaxation via primal scream therapy. Closes with Cherokee Jack’s name. 3000 hertz. (35454, Hunsicker, PA)

Radio Free East Coast

Radio Free East Coast, 12/17, 2315, 6932 on Barrington Hills IL sdr barely audible under low S5 noise level. (Hassig, IL)

Thanks for the nice music. (Hassig, IL)

Unidentified, 12/18 & 12/19, 2344-0025*, 6024.9am. Via a recording, a carrier appeared at 2234 with no audio. The carrier was only 15 dB above the noise and, while there was faint music, it was unusable. (Hunsicker, PA)

WREC, 12/17, 2248-2328*, 6932usb. Via a recording, a program in progress with music. A Blues night with Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Pride and Joy and then many older Blues tunes. Noise that was likely local made listening annoying. (25342, Hunsicker, PA)
