6880 AM Radio 48, 0124, 10.8.23. Program of mostly contemporary dance music with frequent IDs between songs. Music included; 'Owner of a Lonely Heart (Tee's Henry St. dub mix) - Yes, 'Spin You Around' - Puddle of Mudd, 'Welcome to the Jungle' - Guns N' Roses, and many others. Finally 'I Will Not Bow' - Breaking Benjamin, 0352 ID and off. Tone jamming for a time (just after RFW went off the air so jammer didn’t have a target there.) Fair to good otherwise. (Taylor – WI)

Radio 48, 10/07 & 10/08, 2211-0150, 6880am. Via a recording, the carrier appeared at 2211 and started and stopped and returned through 2225, when music started. Boris Glad IDed at 2302. 19,000 Hz seemed to cover the envelope. The audio was a bit ragged after 0140. (45443, Hunsicker, PA)

Radio Free Whatever

6925 USB Radio Free Whatever, 006, 10.8.23. Listening to DJ Dickweed with music and talk between songs including shout outs to folks who logged him on HF Underground. Music included; 'Here's Looking at You, Kid!' - Uninvited, DJDW w/ talk, 'Collect' – TORRES. Mostly doing other things here and so was not listening closely, however noted that late in the program; a jammer overrode the program with distorted talk and tones. Good until then. (The jammer continued for several minutes after RFW ended with distorted derogatory talk.) (Taylor – WI)

Radio Free Whatever, 6925 usb, 10-7/8-23, 2348 UTC on Barrington Hills IL sdr with weak S7 signal and spooky music, came back after Wolverine left air, wobbling freq jerk QRMing Dick Weed too. (Hassig-IL)

Radio Free Whatever, 6950 usb, 10-6/7-23, 2350 utc on Brookfield WI sdr with fair S9+10 signal, slight fading, pop music, at 2353 tried tuning in locally but lost cause under S9+10 neighborhood noise, off at 0045 utc, thanks for the tunes. (Hassig-IL)

6950 usb PIRATE (No. Am.) Radio Free Whatever, 2341-0009 Oct 6, man announcer with shout out to the HF Underground thanking listeners for contacting them. Musical selections with the man announcer mentioning the HF Underground again at 2358. Fair signal. (D’Angelo-PA)

Radio Free Whatever, 10/07 & 10/08, 2324—0103*, 6925am. Via a recording, the Radio Free Whatever theme music opened the show. Dick Weed. Peskies on LSB at 0016, then a jammer for the last five minutes or so. DW is laid off and needs cash to resume to stream his programs. 3200 Hz sounded good. (35354, Hunsicker, PA)

B Side Radio

6935 AM B Side Radio, 0147, 10.7.23. Program of nice jazz with talk between songs including comments about the musicians, HF Underground shout outs and chat. Music included: 'Caravan' - Art Blakely and the Jazz Messengers, 'Made in Sweden' - Brother Jack McDuff, 'Half Nelson' - Miles Davis and others. Fair. (Taylor – WI)

B Side Radio, 6935 am, 10-7-23, 0154 UTC on Brookfield WI sdr with weak S7 to S9 signal, jazz tune then DJ talking about selection he played. (Hassig-IL)

Thunder Chicken

6950 USB Thunder Chicken, 2353, 10.7.23. Music by 5 Finger Death Punch including 'Wash it all Away', 'Wrong Side of Heaven', ’House of the Rising Sun'. Late start for a waterfall image of a chicken with headphones. I went to dinner and came back to 2 SSTV of chickens with headphones. Fair to good. (Taylor – WI)

Thunder Chicken Radio, 6950 usb, 10-7-23, 2341 utc on Barrington Hills IL sdr with fair S9 signal, comedy song "ghost chickens in the sky" then "happy (something) to you" then ID "you're listening to Thunder Chicken Radio" then apparently off air. (Hassig-IL)

6950 usb PIRATE (No. Am.) Thunder Chicken Radio, 0037-0047* Oct 5, guitar instrumental music followed by a man announcer with talk and station ID with another tune and more talk until carrier was gone. Poor reception. (D’Angelo-PA)

Thunder Chicken Radio, 10/07, 2205-2343*, 6950.02usb. Via a recording, maybe a program in progress. Chicken sounds. Mostly hard rock by the same artist. Waterfall image at 2236 and SSTV images in Martin 1 at 2254 and 2319. Ghost Chickens in the Sky at 2339 and an ID at 2343. 3000 Hz was good. (35554, Hunsicker, PA)

Music included: 'The Dogs of War' - Pink Floyd, 'War Machine' - AC/DC, 'War' - Vince DiCola, 'Zombie' - The Cranberries, 'For What It's Worth' - Dusty Springfield, 'Bulls on Parade' - Rage Against the Machine, 'Put That Weapon Down' - Midnight Oil, ‘B.Y.O.B.' - System of a Down, 'A Drug Against War (Overdose Mix)' - KMFDM, 'Rooster' - Alice in Chains, 'Bullet the Blue Sky' - U2, and 'Civil War' - Guns 'n Roses. 6930 usb PIRATE (No. Am.) 77LJS (tentative), 0032-0035* Oct 5, string instrumental music with a very dark mood until carrier terminated at 0035. No station ID noted but a few in HF Underground speculated this possibility. Fair signal. (D’Angelo-PA)

77 Lima Juliet Sierra, 10/08, 0057-0224*, 6950usb. Via a recording, garbled in the beginning, but cleared-up by 0101. Hard rock and Headbanger music. ID at 0219, noted were anti-war tunes. Closes with Pease, Love, and Happiness. Then a call for prayers for those in Gaza and thereabouts. 4000 Hz. (35554, Hunsicker, PA)

77 Lima Juliet Sierra, 10/10, 1253-1306*, 6930usb. Program in progress with Blue Grass music. OM wished the King of the Hobos, Boxcar Willie, well. IDed via THE VOICE of 77 Lima Juliet Sierra. 3000 Hz was best. (45444, Hunsicker, PA)

6930 usb, 10-11-23, 0117 UTC on Brookfield WI sdr with good S9 to S9+10 signal, electronic music, ID as Sycko Radio. (Hassig-IL)

Sycko Radio, 6930 usb/am, 10-9-23, 0149 utc on Traverse City MI sdr with fair S9+10 to S9+20 signal and distorted audio, old heavy metal from late 60's & 70's, at 0200 song "sky pilot" by The Animals from 1968, at 0210 stn switched to AM with fair S9+10 to +20 signal, at 0217 played a jingle then ID as Sycko Radio then off air, nice to hear "sky pilot" again, I was in the usaf in Germany when that was popular. Sycko Radio, 10/09, 0107-0218*, 6930usb. Via a recording, a program in progress. Music, chatter, and regular IDs. Tried something in the waterfall 0140, that I could not decode—later, operator noted that the image needed work. 2800 Hz sounded best. (35343, Hunsicker, PA)

6880 am, 10-8-23, 2148 utc on Brookfield WI sdr with weak noisy S7 signal, hear piano music under the noise, at 2151 switched to Ashley Falls MA sdr with much quieter fair S7 signal, acoustic guitar playing slowly then Ashley Falls MA sdr went offline. (Hassig-IL)

WAPE

6930 am, 10-8-23, 2055 utc on Ashley Falls MA sdr with fair S5 to S7 signal and slow fading after trying 3 sdr's in upper Midwest, Paul Harvey "rest of the story" etc, at 2101 Paul Harvey saying "merry xmas" then theme music from "George of the jungle" then more Paul Harvey, Paul Harvey talking about JFK and 22 Nov 1963 (I was a high school senior when that happened), at 2127 PH talking about Albert Einstein, at 2142 switched to Brookfield WI sdr with noisier S7 to S9 signal, at 2145 "George of the jungle" theme again, at 2146 WAPE jingle then off air. 6935 usb, 10-8-23, 0000 utc "Testing 1 2 3 can anybody hear me" on Brookfield WI sdr with good S9+20 signal, song "straighten out and fly right" and other songs with the word "fly" in them, at 0023 tried tuning in locally but equal to S9+10 neighborhood noise, excellent program as usual, thanks, at 0026 strong QRM from a wobbling frequency @$$hole, at 0047 signal stronger locally over reduced S9 noise, at 0058 echo ID then SSTV/FAX, thanks for the program. 6960 usb PIRATE (No. Am.) 2352 2358 Oct 7, after a musical selection a man announcer came on mentioning “in pretty good shape … by the way you are listening to Zeek Radio …” mentioned it was “psychedelic night on Zeek Radio …” and talked about upcoming Halloween Night activities. Radio Zeek, 10/07 & 10/08, 2305-0032*, 6960usb. Via a recording. The program and the music started at 2305. Zeeky IDed at 2324 and we learned that he had fallen in a well. Learned how to spell “Zeek” from a waterfall image. Oddly, at 0003, he spelled his name as “Z—E—K”. Sent two images in 16 Quam, decoded with Easypal. (45554, Hunsicker, PA)

Ballsmacker Radio

6960 am, 10-7-23, 0104 utc on Brookfield WI sdr with fair S9+10 signal, wide variety of pop tunes from various eras, also tried tuning in locally but under S9+10 neighborhood hash, still good signal at 0153, program theme is about doors with various tunes about doors or what is behind them or knocking on them, at 0237 SSTV/FAX then goodbye announcement by woman, piano IS then off. WTF Radio Worldwide

955 usb PIRATE (No. Am.) 0054-0130* Oct 6, man announcer hosting a music program with several station IDs noted. He talked about some of the musical selections indicating at 0123 “that’s it for me tonight … you are listening to WTF Radio Worldwide … time to go”. A jingle followed proper to the carrier being terminated. Fair to good reception. (D’Angelo-PA)

10/08, 2344-2355*, 6934.17am. Via a recording, a program in ogress with Blues. ID at 2350 and more blues. 8000 Hz. (45343, Hunsicker, PA)

KRAP

10/08 & 10/09, 2355-0040*, 6960am. Via a recording. The carrier appeared at 2355 and a disco vocal started some seconds later. Freddie Flintstone IDed at 2359. Later, he talked of winter arriving in his neighborhood. A mix of Rock and Rap. Closes with Susie Quattro. 16,000 Hz audio bandwidth sounded best. (35343, Hunsicker, PA)

Radio First Termer Iraq

10/09, 1241-1339*, 6930am. Via a recording, programming began some seconds after the carrier appeared. Fascinating program. Emulated a similar station in Vietnam. Dave Rabbit, Charlie Cooper, and Nadiria were the hosts. QSLed within minutes for an HFU report. Via the Pirate Relay Network. (45454, Hunsicker, PA)

Radio Airplane

10/10, 0124-0212*, 6935am. Via a recording; first a carrier, then programming at 0126—the sound of an airplane—and a jingle for Radio Airplane. Captain Eddie was in charge. The Captain wished listeners a Merry Christmas and gave the Wellsboro drop. Much talk of the ‘beautiful, laminated Radio Airplane QSL.’ Sounded best at 6600 Hz. Via NAPRS. (35343, Hunsicker, PA)

All Jimmie Hendrix songs intermixed with various comments at 0032 UTC. 6950 UTC Oct 14th. S9…very nice signal. (Turnick-PA)

6930 usb, 10-6/7-23, 2331 utc on Barrington Hills IL sdr with weak S7 signal with pop music, also brought up on Brookfield WI sdr with better S9 signal, at 2333 utc there was a slight hit on the power and cable went down, came back up at 2345 and tuned in again on Brookfield WI sdr with fair S9 to S9+10 signal, hear rap music. 10/09, 0025-0029, 6930am and 6930usb. Carrier and faint music; only 16 dB above the noise. To USB at 0029 and then gone, mid-song, in the same minute. (Hunsicker, PA)

10/09 0044-0104*, 6960am. Only 13 dB above the noise, it was unusable. All talk. There was lots going on, but I could not understand the words. Something about the North Vietnamese, so fairly old? (Unusable, Hunsicker, PA)

10/09, 0057-0105, 6930am. Via a recording. 15 dB above the noise, so unusable here in AM. Music and “All Right!” just before sign-off. (Unusable, Hunsicker, PA)
