EURO AND SOUTH AMERICA LOGS

Organización Radial El Prado

COLOMBIA. 6016.704, May 27 at 0631, carrier S8/S2, on such a split frequency surely the pirate Organización Radial El Prado. And Ron Howard confirms that: ``COLOMBIA. 6016.68, pirate station - Organización Radial El Prado (thanks again to Rafael Rodríguez R. [Colombia] for the ID), 0550+ UT, May 27 (Saturday). LA songs; frequent, brief announcer; 0632, ended audio (open carrier/dead air); transmitter off at 0634; no choral National Anthem before going off today; poor reception. This station seems to favor weekend broadcasting? `` (Glenn Hauser, OK)

Rádio Casa

BRAZIL. Sunday May 28: Excellent signal on 8000 kHz from Rádio Casa, with a full ID at 1145 UTC. The announcer has a definite "Paulistano" accent, and identified the station as "Rádio Casa - AM 8000, São Paulo". They offered the telephone number 19 999 45 65 85. This corresponds to Campinas, São Paulo State, which would encompass the supposed Amparo transmitter location. Good DX! Adán Mur, Paraguay, WORLD OF RADIO 2193. (Glenn Hauser, OK)

BRAZIL. May 30: Dear Mr. Hauser: Bahia, Brasil has a good signal, but with low modulation, on 15625 kHz, in the 1300 UTC Time Block. The programming consists of typical, sentimental Brasilian music of the Maracatu, Repente and Axé categories. The music is often overspoken by the announcer, with comments. A telephone number was offered, but it was difficult to catch all of the digits. The signal was hit, several times, by Brasil's OTH Radar. Unsurprisingly, the male announcer speaks with a Baiano Portuguese accent. Bahia on 15625 kHz is much improved in signal strength and modulation in the 1500 UTC Time Block. At 1515 UTC a formal ID: "Mundial - Quinze Mil Seiscentos e Vinte e Cinco Kilo Hertz". They are playing sentimental music, some sung in English and some in Portuguese. The announcer is very professional, with a blend of Baiano and Carioca accents. Good DX! Adán Mur, Paraguay. {I tried, but hardly anything from abroad propagating on 15 MHz here --- gh}, . (Glenn Hauser, OK)

EURO AND SOUTH AMERICAN UNID:

QSLS / SSTV / OTHER STUFF

7400, May 27 circa 0630, still no signal from pirate R. Vostochnaya Zvezda. Lucas Bandura updates the WOR iog about this
May 27:

``Re: [WOR] Radio Vostochnaya Zvezda 7400 AM off air --- The operator has built another a transmitter for 7400 kHz. He is running it into a dummy load for now to test it. His latest message on the HF Underground discord was “anyone know if it is normal that the audio is quieter than normal when running into a dummy load? for AM mode. Just doing some final tests now before going on air. need to make sure everything works properly.” He was originally going to use 4 MHz, which I said would be pointless due to the poor range (he was barely heard when he was using 4015 USB). He also considered 13.95 MHz for broadcasting to Japan, but he doesn’t have a transmitter for that frequency right now. He changed his station name to Kawaii FM (FMのかわいい) and the new format will be Japanese music.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK)
