ALL NIGHT RADIO NEWS NOW (or something like that):

1/9, 0236-0301*, 6925/U; A rebroadcast of a transmission of
WFHB, 91.3 in Bloomington, Indiana, which also included
a small bit of another rebroadcast. The major program
heard was the All Night Radio News Now, a clever comedy
program, but this was not really the ID for the pirate
operator. ANRNN was said to be a franchise of the Fire
House Theater. The broadcast started at 0236 with two
     men talking/yelling. A clever, fast-paced comedy about
the coming of the 21st Millennium. @0300 ANRNN noted
that they were signing off for another thousand years.
     (35453, Hunsicker, PA)

BALL SMACKER RADIO:

1/6, 0157, 6930/AM; Wildfire IS, ID, Shout - Tears for Fears,
I count the tears - The Drifters, ID, into a program of
“tears” related songs including groups Sniff n' the
Tears, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Del Shannon, ID, Jackie
Wilson & Paul Carrak with ID’s every 2–3 songs along
with e-mail address for QSL offer if one could identify
the topic for the evening. Started fair, however signal
deteriorated to poor when I quit about 0250.
     (Taylor – WI)
1/7, 0200, 4030/AM; on Traverse City MI sdr with fair S9 to
S9+10 signal, piano IS then woman saying “This is Ball
Smacker Radio", rock tune I can't ID, wide variety of
songs with a tears or crying theme, @0330 96 Tears by
Question Mark and the Mysterians then SSTV/FAX of girl
holding bowling ball, goodbye announcement, piano IS
then off air. Thanks for the tunes. (Hassig-IL)

B-SIDE RADIO:

1/8, 0113, 6935/AM; EE Jazz themed. 0120 ID OM announcer Mr.
     Big League. EOT 0158 (Amelar-MI)
1/8, 0149, 6935/AM; on Barrington Hills IL sdr with weak S9
signal with some fade outs, said "B-side Radio", said
“This has been a prerecorded broadcast", said “This is
the last song and then we're gone", old punk song: All
these people have died, off air @0158. (Hassig-IL)

CAPTAIN MORGAN SW:

1/6, 1410-1455*, 6949.6/AM; Carrier appeared @1410 with Sit-
ting on the Dock of the Bay. Distortion greatly affected
the quality of the broadcast—without the distortion the
overall merit would have been 4, not 2. 5800 Hz fit
     nicely. Mostly Blues. IDs @1410, 1417, 1432 & 1447.
     (35342, Hunsicker, PA)
1/7, 2338, 6949.6/AM; on Traverse City MI sdr with fair-poor
S9 to S9+10+ signal, blues music, at 2351 said “This is
Captain Morgan Shortwave" along with Twilight Zone music,
more blues tunes, off air suddenly @0001, thanks for the
     tunes. (Hassig-IL)

CLOUD SPLITTER RADIO:

1/6, 2113-2211*, 6935/U; B’cast started @2113 with Down Under
& closed with an ID. Old pop & rock. 2800 Hz had the best
     fit. IDs @2125, 2149 & 2211. (35454, Hunsicker, PA)
1/8, 2145-2217*, 6935/U; B’cast started @2145 with Mystery
Ship. Played a favorite song: Green-eyed Lady. Also a
commercial for JGE Appliances. ID & email at close @2217.
     (35554, Hunsicker, PA)
1/11, 2049-2154*, 6935/U; B’cast started @2049 with American
Pie. Horse with No Name, Maggie Mae, Cat’s in the Cradle,
Mr. Bo Jangles, others. 3000 Hz had best sound. IDs
      @2058, 2108 & 2154 after A Boy Named Sue. (35454,
      Hunsicker, PA)

ION RADIO:

1/11, 2156-2303*, 6925/AM; Carrier appeared @2156 with a trom-
bone (?) IS. There was competition with Peskies on LSB.
Switched to USB @ 4800 Hz @2202 to avoid the QRM. IDs
@2200, 2209, 2220 & other times. AM bandwidth was best
at 9600 Hz. Pop/rock music & a few quotes from Ronald
Reagan. Closed with ID and email address. (Ignoring
fleeing from the peskies, 45454, Hunsicker, PA)

MIX RADIO INT’L:

1/8, 2037-2139*, 6885/AM; B’cast in progress. Soft rock & pop.
10,000 Hz bandwidth. Closed with ID (55444, Hunsicker, PA)

OUTHUSE RADIO:

1/9, 0056-0200*, 6955.55; SSTV @0056 did not activate MMSSTC
because the odd frequency flummoxed me. The operator
kindly put the correct frequency in an SSTV broadcast in
Sottie 2 @0116. On the edge of unusable for the entire
b’cast due to noise & a weak signal. Another SSTV @0131.
The operator chatted occasionally. 2600 Hz fit best, but
     the noise. (25242, Hunsicker, PA)

RADIO FREE WHATEVER:

1/7, 2239-2242+ 6955/U; DJ Dick Weed w/pop-rock ditties; ID
     & recap. SIO=353 (Frodge-MI)

SOLID ROCK RADIO:

1/7, 1539-1623, 6925/DSB; Seemed to be double sideband but
no carrier heard. Continuous saxophone solo with talking
over it. Sounded like a mother talking to a crying baby,
man talking to whining dog & other stuff. S7 in central
     Kentucky (Gay-KY)

TWO DOG RADIO:

1/8, 0158, 6925/U; on Barrington Hills IL sdr with fair S7 to
S9 signal, hear old rock tunes from 70's, song Long Cool
Woman in a Black Dress, tried tuning in locally but
barely hear bits of audio under heavy neighborhood noise
which is why I use remote sdr's, made quick announcement
@0238 then off. Thanks for the nice tunes, I haven't
heard them in a while. (Hassig-IL)
1/8, 0225, 6925/U; rock music at S6/S7, only pirate on band,
that is audible. These say it`s Two Dog Radio: https://
     www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,107892.0.html
     (Glenn Hauser, OK)

WANK:

1/6, 0139, 4030/U; Rock music, 0144 ID into Baron von
Pretzelsyten, slowly moved to 4034 USB, then disap-
     peared 0148. Poor–fair (Taylor – WI)

WAVE RADIO:

1/8, 0002-0026, 6950/U w/lots of Kraftwerk tunes like Computer
World & Autobahn. At :07 YL “W-A-V-E Radio We are very
existential” ID into off hook phone error messages The
Telephone Call by Kraftwerk. At :15 robo YL saying “Radio
is extraterrestrial by definition. That makes you explo-
rers of the unknown” non-ID & more Kraftwerk stuff.
     3+54+4+4 0002-0026 8/Jan--Zichi MI
1/8, 2200-2338*, 6950/U; B’cast starts @2200 with music & an
ID by YL. Synthesized sound of waves. Techno music. IDs
     @2209, 2217, 2307 & 2338. “Ride the WAVE.” Some ID’s
included phonetic spelling. (35354, Hunsicker, PA)

WOMP:

1/6, 1932-1958, 6950/U; B’cast was only seven SSTV transmis-
sions in Scottie 2, Martin 2, MR90 & Scottie DX. Because
of the weakness of the signal and noise, three transmis-
sions did not trigger MMSSTV. Because of conditions, the
quality of the images ranged from unusable to poor. A
red & white popcorn bag was a key element of several
images. IDs were in the images. (Hunsicker, PA)
WOMP.png

ZEEKY:

1/6, 2243-2339*, 6937/U; Transmission began @2243 with a C&W
tune. Classical music, rock & a John Fogerty concert per-
formance. Noted beautiful full moon. Talks about not being
able to do 73M because of the location of the transmitter.
I never heard an ID. Last tune was Over the Rainbow; the
BC ended before the song did. (Hunsicker, PA)
1/6, 2312, 6937/U; Doctor Zeeky on Barrington Hills IL sdr
with weak S5 to S7 signal, sounds like a conversation
between 2 or more pirates, after a while dance music with
female singing, @2330 said transmitter is 1000 mi. from
where he is, could hear his voice delayed 2 or 3 seconds
in background from his radio, spoke of getting wine from
Wal-Mart (as a retired union member I never shop there),
reggae(?) version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, off air?
     (Hassig-IL)
1/11, 2229-2356*, 6935/U; Infected Mushroom Radio b’cast started
@2229 with Techno music. Zeeky chimed-in @2246 with an ID.
The characteristic Zeeky ringing/echo/reverb was present.
Notes amplifiers must be driven hard to handle techno music.
Relative hi-fidelity at 4000 Hz bandwidth. Talks about
propagation & transmitters. Music & transmission ended
     @2356. (45444, Hunsicker, PA)

UNIDs:
1/6, 1315-1427*, 6925/AM; B’cast started @1315. Rebroadcast of
conservative talk shows from the Washington Dunlop TV net-
work (Washington State). Discusses gun rights & the “Cyber
weapons arms race.” Seems to be an internal recording
since a technician could be heard talking between segments.
8000 Hz bandwidth. (55455, Hunsicker, PA)
1/7, 2242-2251+, 6935/U; Rock ditties, nothing else. SIO=3+53
     w/touch of distortion. (Frodge-MI)
1/8, 2139-2228*, 6960/U; Opens @2139 with Tired of Waiting for
You. The quality of the BC was affected by the frequency
instability of the transmitter & perhaps, internal distor-
tion, throughout the broadcast. Rock & C&W. SSTV in Scottie
     1 @2158 & 2217. (35352, Hunsicker, PA)
UNID6960.png
1/11, 2130-2143+, 6935/U; Pop music at QRN level; sounds like
classic rock stuff; no ID heard. (Frodge-MI)

COMMENTARIOS:

Rion Hunsicker: Lately, there are many more LSB peskies on 43M.
The language sounds eastern European. Perhaps ask the mailing
list if anyone understands the lingo and can comment on the
language, who they might be, and what is being said. HFU has a
peskies section, but the recent postings for 43M seem to be SS.
