Well, I've managed to pick up a Harris (now GatesAir) DexStar IBOC exciter and Veronica Aareff 1W FM exciter, so this summer I believe Monkey Island Radio will be going HD!
The two exciters should be a good for doing combined amplification, though I don't expect to get much (maybe 30-50 watts TPO with a good class A amplifier).
Stereo Tool will end up doing a lot of heavy lifting and I still have a bit more equipment to purchase (USB to AES converter), as I'll need the source audio to output unprocessed AES to the DexStar to get my 7 second delay, then go into Stereo Tool to do the MPX encoding -- I'll also need the source output going into Stereo Tool, then processed and output AES to the DexStar for the HD radio.
In theory, I could skip the Aareff exciter and just pick any FM on the dial that doesn't already have HD sidebands and add my own -- that might be a bit more fun!
