That might be good if you're an experimenter, or have a radio or software radio that has DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale, not Digital Rights Management) reception on it. Another thing I thought of was using a digital mode as a studio to transmitter link, because most people wouldn't be able to pick up DRM, so it might make a good utility to use after the novelty has worn off.

It could be used on Part-15 bands for experimental broadcasting, at 1/10th of a watt on the mediumwave band.

I'm curious about the sound quality you could achieve with DRM, especially compared to HD radio on AM. I've heard some HD AM from distant stations like WPHT and WGY, and the quality was lower than I expected.
