Not only could this protect landline phones from getting ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAPPED at tower site locations, but could help take out RFI from close AM TX sites, or if you have a Carrier-Current station on-site. I wouldn't use this for Ethernet connections, unless you want a really slow BIT Rate.
