Re: FCC proposes $50 fee for new ham radio licenses, upgrades and vanity applications?

That's odd in these times, they're supposed to be lowering some of the fees for broadcast. Could it be like a cover charge in order to try and keep riff-raff out? I can't see the treasury benefiting that much from the fees.
