I believe the lack of pirate radio activity mostly has to do with the recent "DFing" technology added to the KiWi online SDRs. Now anybody can use this to find out the general location of a transmitted signal. So it's no surprise a free radio station feels uncomfortable broadcasting now, kinda takes the mystery and fun out of the hobby.
