Indonesia is back! Decent signal in English on announced "nine-five-two-five" kHz. Ending a lengthy newscast at 1323Z, followed by a clear anmt of the frequency, and into a magazine-style program with music bridges between items. Best signal I've *ever* had from them (well, I've heard 'em exactly twice). Now (1340Z) some Indopop music. Signal fading.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Been for sale since 2005! Never gives the maker's name, but it's adjustable for 250, 500 and 1000 watts. $1200, pick up only. I don't think I'm gonna try to pick it up... jtaby jtart - The Swap Shop
Tuned in to lots of laughing, then song "Arnold Blaine" that sounds like it's from the '60s. Computerized female voice sez something like "Carbonite Radio" and they sign off - but are still going with segues. Most of the music is familiar to me but I haven't heard it in years... Finally got a clear "Clever Name Radio" ID. Either my hearing is going or the prby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Apparently testing; on and off several times over the last hour or so. Heard a version of "Roxanne" I'd never heard before, but since then bits and pieces of music. BIG signal (S8 into WNY) and decent modulation (maybe just a bit overdriven but not certain). No ID heard yet.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Very weak signal into WNY; can just detect traces of music in and slightly above my local noise threshold, but not enough for a report to the station. About what I expected for 25 watts from Argentina! Occasional QRM from the pestadores. Signal apparently peaked around 2315 or so. Almost completely gone by 0000Z.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
First noticed around 1315Z with Steely Dan tracks, including Aja. 1330 gave shoutout to R4002 for his report, but no ID. Signal in and out of the noise threshold but quite nice when peaking. Up to S5 or 6 in WNY. 1340Z gave ID as Yeah Man Radio.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Weak signal with acoustic jazz (mostly horn but not Dizzy) except the last track was piano. Very weak (maybe undermodulated) M ancr heard but couldn't make anything out. Possibly gone at 2230 but couldn't be sure since the signal was so weak - like in and out of the noise threshold. Now (2252Z) something in USB with Halloween sfx.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Which says nothing about the original post... The Republicans repeatedly "cut taxes" and "increase spending" - which runs up the debt. The Democrats repeatedly pay that debt down. Hmmmm...by jtart - General radio discussion
"When is it appropriate to pull a TV networks' license?" Asked the Prez. How about never? TV *stations* have licenses, TV networks do not!by jtart - General radio discussion
Sounds like our Mystery Music Station again; very good AM signal into WNY. Finished some errands and turned on the Pro3 to hear a YL singing "Time After Time", then AC/DC "Back In Black", "We Belong Together", "Here I Go Again" and currently (1540Z) "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". No IDs or other anmts so far. Some QSB noted; signal S4 to S9. No QRMby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Nice signal rebroadcasting an internet stream - and claiming to be "real pirate radio" (hint: there's nothing the slightest bit pirate about an internet stream)! Sign on and into "What Is Hip". High-energy program. S4 to S8 into WNY on the Pro3. Off 1648Z. Followed by much weaker station saying "Check one, two, three" and into "Breaking the law".by jtart - Free Radio Logs
S8 to S9 into WNY. Nice modulation.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
There's something in there; I can occasionally catch bits of music in the background noise. On two occasions the signal popped up to a very good level, so I know it's a Brit-sounding M ancr and he's playing pop music. Unfortunately he never IDs when the signal is good. :( Call it poor to nonexistent. Just after typing the above, the signal rose up again and I heard a promo "Your Officialby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on with Steam "Na-na, Hey-hey". Playing oldies like "Venus", "The Rapper", and "On Saturday Morning". At the moment (1242Z) playing Led Zeppelin. Fair to good signal into WNY - S3 to S6 on the Pro3. Nice mod... Off 1300Z following CW (maybe ID?).by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Apparently the "mystery music station" at it again, putting a S6 to S9 signal into WNY with well-modulated rock music (Journey at the moment - 1353Z). Sure wish they'd ID sometime...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Weak (S1 to S4) but readable into WNY with minimal QRN at the moment. The moment being 2330Z...by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Same mumbling talk as yesterday, but I also got a bit of NOAA weather and something about "North West Livingston County." Someone rebroadcasting a TIS??by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Mostly a M mumbling in the noise floor, but on occasion the signal would rise up to understandable level. No ID heard. Seemed to simply disappear about 2015. Re-appeared several times thereafter but finally faded under the noise floor. Seemed to come and go randomly - possible xmtr probs?by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Had some time and very quiet conditions today, so I tuned 1710 kHz a little after 2300Z. Originally I heard a weak voice but around 2320 the NJ TIS came in strongly with NOAA weather. Then I heard another voice underneath and by about 2332 the YL from the Springfield (MA) Armory took over the channel with public service announcements. Now (0040Z) I'm hearing the 9/11 Crash Site Memorial TIS abby jtart - Medium Wave Logs
Unbelievable; another long-gone station revived! The sounds of Farty the Seal are unmistakable, even in increasing QRN from approaching T-storms. Not much else made it through the noise.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
The "Mystery Music Station" is back. Weaker today in unsettled conditions; only S7 to S8. More-or-less continuous rock music with no IDs, as usual. I've heard The Supremes, Stones, Beatles, and more since I tuned in at 1815Z. Good modulation as always.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Unauthorized relay of an old MW pirate, WJDI - 1620, began around 1630Z. Signal was pretty good at the beginning but has dropped off considerably since to barely audible.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on right after the Mystery Music Station went off with much weaker signal. Playing soft jazz with occasional "Yeah Man" IDs. May be some distortion on the audio.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on with soft piano music, them played Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" on the guitar, now more piano music. Decent sig into WNY - almost 20 over S9 with a little QSB. Piano version of "Us and Them" now (2332Z)by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Heard with bluegrass music weakly into WNY. A few readable peaks showed this was a relay of a public radio station, but I couldn't pull out a complete ID. Probably S2 to S3 average. Interesting music. I had them zeroed at 6925.25 kHz.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Station came on at 1217Z with brass band playing the Nat'l Anthem, then into marching music. No ID as of 1230Z. S1 - S2 into WNY. 1244Z played Nat'l anthem again, 1245Z M ancr said something about radio station QRP twice and off. Signal got weaker during broadcast but never got better than about a S2. Per another board the announcement was "Sousa Station QRT". Too much QRN to discby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Fair to poor signal with low modulation into WNY. Said he was testing equipment. Playing Stevie Wonder music. Mic had some RF in the system (slight distortion) and could have been much higher level - M ancr was hard to understand. Lengthy discourse 2336Z. QRN at moderate level. Maybe gone by 2338Z.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Possibly the same station as yesterday. Signal much weaker (S1 to S6) and fading. Pop music including "Under The Gun" and "Uptown Girl". Whoever this is likes taking chances by staying on as long as they do...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
US pop music with English-speaking ancr to 1900. All I could hear was "Shortwave Service" said twice, then Radio Habana Cuba signed on next door on 11850 and buried them. Probably S5 into WNY. Nothing listed on short-wave.info except China, and not at this time. Any ideas? Possibly Sundays only; not heard today (Monday). Apparent "punch-up" error as not heard today.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
