Nice, colorful, full data card signed by Alan Weiner in 8 days. Hardly DX, I know. But I think that verifys all the domestic 50kW stations that are still on the air. I could be wrong, but...by jtart - General radio discussion
On with B-52s "Channel Z". Monty Python clip. Nice clear sig up to S3 into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
On with music box IS and child with ID. S/on given at 1312 UTC. S6 to S7 into WNY. Off 1337 after same music box IS. Audio a bit thin and maybe a little overdriven, but readable.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Decent signal into WNY. Hard rock and frequent IDs. Didn't hear any contact info.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
The Dak confirmed my suspicion - it was a domestic relay xmsn. Dang!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
On now with the best signal I've ever gotten from them - makes me wonder if it's a domestic relay - peaking to S5 with long, slow fades (but not complete fade-outs). Frequent IDs and hard rock music. Playing "Fear of the Dark" at 0219. Wonder if he got a bigger xmtr... If that's 100 watts into a ground-mounted vertical the DX gods must be with us tonight!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Talker back again about 0000 UTC, 11/28. "Taxman" and more talk. Off 0030.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Also gottum here in WNY; political talk and occasional music ("I Am Woman" at 0108 UTC). QRM on the AM side from the pestadores. Not much of a signal but readable on a snowy night.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Probably the same station that was on earlier playing Hank Williams music. Gone for a while, then back. Playing Convoy at 0132 UTC.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
In my inbox this morning - a full data eQSL from Radio Totse for my 02 Sept reception. Thx, Dak!by jtart - General radio discussion
Apparent Radio Totse audible, but barely. Signal right at receiver threshold but no noise so I can make out faint music. Have not heard any voice or SSTV yet. Dak does quite well with 100 watts and a ground-mounted vertical! M ancr heard weakly around 1229 (I think - no notes again!). Also heard The Who "Who Are You" at about 1400, but have no way of knowing if it was still R Totsby jtart - Free Radio Logs
And have you noticed how there's always a CRI xmtr 5 kHz away from *anything* you want to listen to? True of Indonesia, Thailand, and even Australia. CRI runs plenty power and splatters all over the place. Definitely a PITA!by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Tuned them in yesterday 1300-1400, but signal was way poor compared to 1900-2000. Still haven't tried at 1000; probably because it's before I get outta bed.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Heard three piano tunes (one with M vocalist) to abrupt sign-off at 2356 UTC. No announcements. Reasonable signal into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
In AM it doesn't really matter, but it seemed to be centered on 9525. Chris said 9526. Most receivers won't be able to tell much difference.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Thanks to a tip from Chris Lobdell, I found them this afternoon in English (although I couldn't make out much) until 2000, then into French. It appears that they are here from 1000 until 2100 with one-hour blocks of various languages. English is sked at 1000-1100, 1300-1400, and 1900-2000 UTC. I'm gonna try the other hours and see if they come in better.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Edmund Fitzgerald Radio... Their signal is kinda broad. Off 2310 UTC.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Several repeats of the show with gmail addy. Still going strong. S5 to S6 into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
S7 to S8 into WNY. Must have worked on their audio; it's not distorted this time!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Sounded like a music box and backward masked M voice. Decent (but not great) signal into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Tuned in to hear a list of names read over music, including rank (2nd Mate, 1st Mate, Captain), an email addy at gmail.com, and a bell tolling 25 times. Gone at 1444 UTC. Couldn't get the email address (wasn't focused, I guess). Good signal into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Hitting me with S5 to S7 signals into WNY. Female vocal at 2035. IDed at 2044 as Radio Free Whatever.by jtart - Free Radio Logs

Received a full data card from the Voice of Vietnam - 12020 with "business" card, postcard, and program schedule in 28 days, air mail both ways. Country #74 verified.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Someone using a net receiver (and failing to state so in his report) would, indeed, be a "cheater". Absolutely! That's more in line with these SDR catches made while the listener is elsewhere or doing something else. In both cases the listener did NOT hear the station on his own equipment by his own hand. As I mentioned elsewhere, I have nothing against SDRs - hell, I have one. But tby jtart - General radio discussion
