Tuned in to the Belfast drop and a gmail addy for reports, then into reggae. 1940Z more IDs as Radio Duplicado and XEROX, then more music. About S5 into WNY. Off 1950Z after repeated addresses. Haven't heard these guys in years! Welcome back.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
I checked all three frequencies during the time(s) they were supposed to be on the air. Nothing heard here in WNY. Apparently they've been "registering" schedules with the FCC since sometime in 2015, leading some to a comparison with the highly touted NDXE, which never appeared - and apparently never delivered the merchandise they offered. Has anyone ever heard their Radio MI fromby jtart - General radio discussion
Very odd vocal music (unusual big band swing) and F ancr saying "This is not WMPR" after each tune. S8 - S9 into WNY. M ancr began at the half-way point. Off 2159Z following M saying, "This is definitely not WMPR." About time someone did a parody of this station! ;)by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Program of soft jazz with occasional IDs. Fair to good signal into WNY. Gave gmail addy for reports.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on with weird SFX, then into esoteric music. Occasional SSTV and CW but no voice anmts. Drifted into pop music before going off. I couldn't read the CW, but I don't think it was peewee (I can recognize the letter "p"). Decent sig into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
On with multiple IDs and gmail addy, then into religious music. S7-S8 into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
It's a recording of WNBC (660, NYC) playing oldies. S4 to S6 into WNY. Sounds as hyper as 77-WABC used to be, but worse they use some cheesy echo. Audio break(s) or off 1744Z. I don't remember WNBC ever being rock; had to be post-1963. Anyone know when they were?by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on weak with low audio. That got corrected after a while and the signal was loud and clear with disco/techno/dance/trance/whatever you want to call it music and infrequent IDs. Had a clear ID and correct time check just prior to s/off at 1312 with the comment, "Do you know where your children are at?" Kind of ironic that Cool AM was using USB mode. But thanks for the morning relby jtart - Free Radio Logs
I have it at 6929.2 kHz - and have had it for most of the past hour. S5 to S7 into WNY. Why does most church music sound like funeral dirges? Aren't you supposed to "make a *joyful* noise..."?by jtart - Free Radio Logs
The Ramsey FM-35 had a mod to put out one watt, which is not bad. Unfortunately, Ramsey stopped selling consumer kits a few years ago. Radio Free Berkeley was always quite slow and I'm not even certain whether he's still in the biz. OTOH, there is a guy in Europe (maybe Holland?) who "advertises" on HFU, and there is a guy in Greece with decent equipment, although rather pricey. Bby jtart - The Workshop
Noted off about 1600Z - but back on by 1712. Nothing audible while they were off this time.by jtart - Other logs
Nice clean loud signal from tune-in about 1600Z and still going strong. Long strings of music, muffled repeated IDs, SSTV, and CW IDs at intervals. Good to hear someone using this school break for some broadcasting!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
They were supposed to be off Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb 21th and 22rd). I tuned occasionally on Tuesday and they never went off. Wednesday they changed their announcement to include the 23st, and I found them off at 2100Z! What did I hear on 10 MHz? Not a thing from WWVH, which should have bombed in, nor from BPM (China). Instead, PPE (Brazil) was audible weakly and there was a (presumed) tracby jtart - Other logs
Looking for one or more muRata CFE-455 ceramic filter(s), part number 16-45575. These are long discontinued and are no longer in the muRata catalog. They look like disc capacitors but are actually resonators. If you've got any in your very deep junquebocks, please contact me with quantity and price either by email or PM here on the site. Thanques and 73, jtaby jtart - The Swap Shop
Also heard in WNY with varying signal - always faded just as he gave the gmail addy, of course! Came on a short while (10 or 15 minutes) after Moonlight Radio did a brief oldies show: Came on with Link Wray (or Duane Eddy), Elvis, and Mamas and Papas, then YL gave the ID, then a couple more oldies before disappearing. Sorry, I didn't note the exact time(s). Signal was barely above threshold atby jtart - Free Radio Logs
VG sig into WNY with hard rock and some SSTV. Off 0035 after CW ID as Pee Wee. Peaking around S9 here. QSL appreciated.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
From what I read elsewhere, it's really only a detector - not an entire "receiver". By the time you add all the ancillary circuitry it's considerably larger.by jtart - The Workshop
Obviously they're morons with more money than brains. Probably "evangelical republicans"...by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
HV Short was quite the character, as I recall. He was big into building transmitters (long before that was a popular thing to do). I have RFM verified on almost as many frequencies as there are! I wish I had the chance to meet him. R.I.P., old friend.by jtart - General radio discussion
I received the following email from RF Burns this morning: "I am sad to report to the pirate radio community that a great boot (and a close personal friend) has gone silent. I received news that Crazy Roger of Radio Confusion, a NAPRHoF member, passed away in October 2015. He was 62 years old and had been in poor health for many years. We had been trying to contact him for over a year witby jtart - General radio discussion
Same show as every other year, this time with a poor to fair signal into WNY. You'd think they'd update it at some point. I mean, where's Zappa's "Jewish Princess"?by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Began really weak in the noise but signal improved to s/0ff. It's their 2016 Xmas Show, complete with a mailbag segment and lotsa xmas-related songs. Off at 1313Z with good sig into WNY. Back on at 1353 with repeat. Good to hear 'em again. jtaby jtart - Free Radio Logs

Yep. I spent all day yesterday inside by the radio checking out some regional channels for stations I hadn't heard yet. And I got a few of them! And another today. When it's snowin' and blowin', radio will keep you warm. Although I haven't heard WARM yet... ;)by jtart - General radio discussion
Received a rather vague eQSL from Macedonia Radio (formerly on 9935 kHz) from their new Technical Chief, who apologized for the FIVE year ELEVEN month delay and mentioned "the program (I) heard". Country #83 verified. That took even longer than the card from WNOT. And it shows one should NEVER give up!by jtart - QSLs
Rcvd full data eQSL #400 in less than 48 hours. Great QSL for a really good show. Thx, Z!by jtart - QSLs
Decent sig into WNY with a new xmas show featuring five songs that Shazam can't identify, including two by Blondie. Finished with a Patty Smith song and off at 1533Z.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Received today a full data (and legible!) photo QSL card from Voice of Hope, outside Lusaka, Zambia. I heard them on 9680 kHz back in June and sent an ereport to Los Angeles. The reply took six months! Country #82 verified.by jtart - QSLs
Yeah, I've got a DX398 that I used for outside sleuthing (finding nothing), but I never thought about trying it indoors. That's a good idea and since we're about to have a major sn*wstorm I may have a couple days to do it. Might be faster to simply turn off the UPS while listening to the warble, however. Took a while but at least I've got it narrowed down. Finally...by jtart - The Workshop
