Still chugging away underneath the wideband nx that has plagued it for the last several days. Audible in the background but not good enough copy to make out the programming. Is this perhaps a beacon in AM mode? It seems to be on all the time...by ff - Free Radio Logs

Good question Bram. In my situation, the nice wx has brought more QRN and less free time to monitor. That's why I posted my totally underwhelming Romania reception the other day - to add to the activity level here. That expensive R8 just sits on my desktop loafing nowadays. It almost makes me wish for Winter again. Almost...by ff - General radio discussion

I know what you mean Lee. I also HATE that damn Zinio - almost as much as I hate Windoze 8. PDF is so widely used that Adobe doesn't need to gouge publishers - they make it up on volume. So why not use it? Apparently there's some kickback going on here. I have a 5 yr electronic sub to CQ which includes the Plus. Even with all that info coming at me every month I get less utility and enjoymeby ff - General radio discussion
Just got mine too - makes me look ten pounds lighter. Too bad I'm a hundred pounds overweight. Excellent job - thank you Doctor!by ff - General radio discussion
I'd also guess you heard Radio Reloj Dood. When conditions are right (usually in the Winter) it beats the crap out of NYC's WMCA 570 which is much, much, much closer to me. Even when its not pounding in here I can often hear its tick-tick-ticking in the background.by ff - Medium Wave Logs

All the modern technologies are as a two-edged sword. I LOVE receiving MP3s of received transmissions - even if the reception was poor. Nothing gives me a better idea of how I'm getting out than to hear it with my own ears. Although it took me awhile to get comfortable with e-QSLs, I have made the mental adjustment and now issue them without a qualm. SDR receptions don't bother me.
