On at 0120 with IS - for ten minutes! Into EE program at 0130 but muffled audio on mic. which rendered the YL mostly not understandable. The M ancr was a bit better and the folk music at the end of the broadcast was nice. Report sent.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Unfortunately, it seems quite the opposite. Although Andy apparently hasn't made any definitive statement, most people now believe Horizon FM is coming from Ireland. If so, it's a real disappointment - not to mention a low-down dirty trick...by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
For the past several years there has been a repeated hue and cry about the existence of a FCC snitch - that is, someone who is giving the FCC information about pirate Operators' identitys and locations. Fingers have been pointed, names have been named, and reputations have been sullied. I don't buy any of it, and with good reason Why not? Because the FCC has made it abundantly clear in theby jtart - General radio discussion
Very unusual for a signal to peak just before the TOH ID, but they did! Came up out of nowhere with the usual "tock, tock" sound and time announcement just prior to the minute, stayed audible for the hourly ID and info, then gradually faded into oblivion by 1410Z. First time heard on 25 MHz although 20 MHz is frequently good into WNY. 25 MHz was never a really strong signal but was readby jtart - Other logs
Nice letter received from the MIKES time station (25 MHz) in todays' mail. Total time: 66 days. They returned the $2 sent for return postage! Funny, though - I haven't yet heard the reactivated WWV on that frequency... update (31May15): Apparently they have taken their time station off the air since WWV reactivated on 25 MHz. There is not so much as a mention of it on their web page.by jtart - Other logs
Nice assortment of music, from old Chicago to a bluesy "Train Kept a'comin'" up to sign-off at 0017Z. "All music all ID, WMID" and WMID ID repeated before carrier cut. Very nice AM signal (S9+ into WNY) and *great* modulation made this an enjoyable listen. QSL appreciated.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
AIR in Burmese from 1215UTC tune-in. Mostly talk by M with brief music interludes. Now (1237) YL talking. Decent S5 signal with short, choppy fades and no interference or jamming. Off 1315.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Weak to fair in very little noise. The WBNY Easter show including "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" and other related music. Off at 1118Z after a parody ad of some sort. Hoppy Easter, everyone!by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Carrier on 1217, programming began at 1222 with YL (in English!) talking about clean air. Music started about 1230 with reggae song "No Woman, No Cry". Pretty decent signal - maybe better than last week. Certainly good for 400watts! YL talking in English again at 1238. Didn't know they did anything in English... Signal completely faded out a bit after 1300Z.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Slightly better signal tonight but lotsa noise. Standard pop music format..by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on with IDs and strange programming - like a musical saw! - fair to good signal for a change.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
They were in around 2330Z here, but much weaker than usual.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
I checked 'em last evening and they seemed right on frequency. I'll check again...by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Hellalula!! I heard 'em this morning (local time)! Tuned the Kenwood to 25.900 about 1200 UTC and heard nothing, so I just left it on. about 1315 I realized I was hearing some metal music followed by a M in Ruskie, then more metal. Nothing showing on the "S" meter, but a decent signal on peaks with deep fades. Not bad for 400 watts from Moscow. Obliterated by local electrical BUZZ justby jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Decent signal into WNY as well; sounded like Metallica played.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on with the "Lincolnshire Poacher" music, into CW, then various oddball numbers given with accents. Lotsa phone numbers and bits of ads. 451-4949. 453-4848. Lincolnsire Poacher music again at 2242. More numbers. Music again at 2243. Free parking. Mention of Brampton. Debt consolidation. Binding agreement. Insurance. Don't drink and drive. CW again at 2245. Poacher mx 2246 and gone.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Not a bad signal but with deep fades. M talking about Yahweh.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Had 'em on 6245 around 0120 UTC here, too, with much weaker signal than previous reception on 6255. They were audible on 6255 Thursday evening, too. Wonder why they jump frequencies..?by jtart - Free Radio Logs
My copy finally arrived today. Yup: January issue...by jtart - General radio discussion
Got a nice eQSL from Horizon FM for 6255 kHz at 300 watts this afternoon, so call it three days. I was hoping they'd QSL 6205 or 5780, but I'll take what I get! ;)by jtart - General radio discussion
Real nice signal into WNY tonight on 6255 with light pop music. S7 to S9 on the Kenwood and "twin sloper". Best I've ever heard 'em (well, only the second time...). There was a burst of LOUD idling FAX at one point but generally a good frequency.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Mine was scheduled for delivery on Saturday (the 8th) but didn't process through the sort facility in Rochester until Sunday. Finally arrived today (the 11th). Nice shirt! Thanks Doctor Benway...by jtart - General radio discussion
Great signal into WNY with good AM mod. "Jerry's Farm", "Hotel JTA", and lotsa Jay clips. Good to hear from JB again.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
MIKES time station beeping along nicely on 25.000 MHz on 03/08 at 1845+. Not a S4 signal, but it seems pretty steady today. Some short fades and some long, deep fades, but fairly steady. Give it a shot!by jtart - Other logs
That Finnish time station in again this morning, first about 1245 and again at 1650 UTC. Very weak sig that was barely audible and completely faded out for long periods. Got a report ready to go and will report if/when I receive a QSL.by jtart - Other logs
Assorted music (BeachBoys now) and shouted IDs. At first sounded like there were two stations on at once, but things have sorted themselves out now. Haven't heard this one for a while.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Apparently PPE, Brazil. They also made a brief appearance at 2245Z today with CW following the minute marker. Didn't know they used CW IDs... BPM was audible 2255 until 2300 with their offset pips, CW ID, and YL in CC.by jtart - Other logs
Actually, it was HD2IOA, "eye-oh-ay" *not* "210". But that's all moot, since they've been decommissioned (darnit!).by jtart - Other logs
None, at the moment. Said he was going to set up a gmail addy. One would think he would see the reports here and take care of things, but...by jtart - General radio discussion
I know several time stations have been "decommissioned" in recent years, including VNG, ATA, BSF, and HD2IOA. I've been hoping for a trace of YVTO but haven't heard anything from them. Can anyone in the deep South confirm whether they're still on or have left the air? TIA for any info.by jtart - Other logs
