Only S=3 but clean modulation made the ID easier. Playing the usual obscure Rock -- well, obscure to me anyway! 4185/AM X-FM Radio ID at :22 between songs, sounded like it was the usual great audio, but weak to the point I couldn’t really tell for sure, but hey, if the modulation weren’t so good it probably wouldn’t have been so easy to understand! BANGING into the Thumb of Michigan: 4045/U WDDR w/music and IDs and ‘Happy New Years for those on the Coast’ ancmt at 0506. “Here Comes the Band” by request, and then at :11 the computer voicing Auld Lang Syne lyrics. Cute. Mention that he had 25 minutes left in his playlist if he didn't get requests, and into "Let's Give 'em Something to Talk About"by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
6935.0/AM w/non-stop Beatles tunes including "Happiness is a warm gun" and She's So Heavy etc. A brief announcement at s/off at 0206 but if there was an ID in that I missed it. 4+544+4 16/June using SDRplay +SDRuno +400' randomwire. Heard in the Thumb of Michigan just north of Port Hope. Any idea who this might have been?by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
In 45444 in Michigan's Thumb -- playing with different microphones (the communications phone sounded way better than the other!) and lots of music -- Carley Simon was a nice one -- and giving shout outs to people, Does anyone know what variety of SSTV he was sending? I didn't get to it quickly enough to try for a live decode, but it never QUITE decoded properly. I'll have to play with the recby radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
I didn't catch the audio ID either -- I'll email you the three SSTV images though I don't know if that will help you any .... (sigh.) //Kenby radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
Thanks for the ID "Bram" .... I can hear that too instead of "Next" radio .... ;)by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
Decent signal, but the voice modulation has been weaker than the music making an ID difficult. Will have to review the tape. Songs aired included "Free Ride" at 0246 and "Hungry like a WOlf" at 0249 as well as similar .. ID at 0317 We give you the best sounds at ¿Next Radio? -- I could be way off on that! Anyone have a more definitive ID? 73 //KV Zichi MI2by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
Still knocking my antenna off it's insulators with a S9+10-S9+20 signal at 0507-0610* Playing pop oldies mostly including: :20 "Pictures of Lilly" :29 "The Letter" :31 "Bernadette" and :51 "Bill" s/off by OM Op saying "bye bye" and off at 0610 IDs with phonetic call and "Drunken DJ Radio" and computer voice as well as DJ givby radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
I THINK this is what you were hearing Bram ..... 6926sh/AM Liquid Radio. Didn't hear an ID until :01, but that was it! Pop Rock music and no ancmts I could make out, but including ELO's "Do Ya" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" (the theme from "Real Genius" -- one of the BEST movies ever made!) and then into Styx's "I'm Sailiby radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
Still making it into South-Central Lower Michigan at 0350 ... flirting with my local noise level during the deeper fades, but usually about S8. SINPO=3+44+43+ ... lots of WABC Singing IDs from ye olden days when radio was radio, and even some 'vintage' weather reports! :) A fun listen ... any idea who is relaying this?by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
You guys sound paranoid. But then again, as the old addage says, 'are you beng paranoid if they really ARE out to get you?' .... :) This is either some 'research' station, or a defective low power station run by a museum and the FCC guys who bust pirates like OTR so they let it be! :)by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
Heard with rather distorted audio (never did get it to sound right) playing music, and then PEEWEE sent clearly 2x in CW. Didn't hear any voice IDs and only heard briefly 0208-0211* Moderate signal (SIO 2+42) 28/Nov Using a Drake SPR-4 and 400' randomwire antenna --Zichi MI2by radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
The kids just left from dinner and a 44+4+ signal from XFM with their usual great modulation greeted me as I turned on the radio in South Central Lower Michigan. 0120 on 1/Novby radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
6884/AM WMFQ EE w/'mangled pop' -- used clips from pop tunes such as Genesis "No Reply at All" and "Midnight at the Oaisis" by Maria Muldaur but 'remixed' them so some phrases were repeated over and over and moved around -- they did NOT just play the songs! and many IDs by 'chorus' chanting "Where's my Fucking QSL" both betweeby radioguy73 - Free Radio Logs
"E11" is one of the "Enigma" designations for a Spy numbers station -- this being the one for Polish spies it is speculated. See http//priyom.org/number-stations/english/e11.aspx for more details on this one. And to answer your question "2,2,8, oblique, 0, 0" is what the audio of the station was during the time reported ....by radioguy73 - Other logs
What treaties prohibit the commercialization of SW? There have been commercial stations on SW from Canada since before dinosaurs roamed the earth, WRUL and WNYW carried ads in the 50s through 70s. Today, Radio Thailand carries ads daily, and for goodness sake, the Mighty KBC is NAMED after a commercial enterprise and carries ads for not only KBC but other businesses as well.
