Started off real good into WNY, but faded down after a while. Great blues music while I could hear it.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Found them in Indonesian prior to 1300 UTC with YL pop singer. Switched to English at 1300 with frequency list, complete ID, and news read by YL. "Today in Indonesia" began at 1315. Bad slop and getting worse from VoA in Chinese on 9530, so not much heard after 1320. Brazil may have been in there, too. The afternoon broadcast (1900-2000) hasn't been audible lately, but they're still inby jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Same here with overdriven teeny-bopper garbage rock at 0000+. What a waste of air-space! Move along folks; nothing to see here...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
9930 - T8WH, Palau - *very* good signal 1320-1350 UTC - up to S7. 9940 and 9975 - TWR, Guam - weak but readable on just before 1400Z. 9990 - R Farda - from India - also weak but readable just after 1400. 11510 - Russia, weak but clear 11545 - RF Asia from India 11550 - WEWN in Spanish; good signal (of course!) 11580 - KTWR, Guam 11600 - Iran 11630 - Kuwait 11650 - China 11675 - Iranby jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs
Interesting talk but hard to get tuned in. Discourse with live audience about some of Tesla's inventions. At 0110 he mentioned power distribution. 0113 said "the US has a VLF xmtr at the South Pole similar to Tesla's experiments". Also mentioned one at Riga, in Russia. Some temporary technical problems at 0127-28. Signal only fair, S2 to S3, with a very high noise level.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
I wondered about that and switched to FM mode, but that didn't help... :(by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Good signal but serious audio problems; music is better than the voice. Big band swing music in sets of three, M ancr IDs, back announces, and gives the BRS maildrop - but the mic is muffled which makes things hard to understand. Played "Hard Hearted Hannah" at 1246 and "Barney Google" at1303 UTC. Overall audio sounds overdriven but may just be an impedance mismatch. And he coby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Doctor Benway talking about relays on 1720 and also about shutting down and taking a break from broadcasting for a while. Decent signal, peaking about S5 into WNY. ID at 0135 and wished everybody a joyous and prosperous New Year Then into music.by jtart - Medium Wave Logs
Dick and friend playing hard rock with much patter between tracks. Signal decent at times, but fady and much weaker than usual. Maybe the skip is just long tonight...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Just received a full data eQSL sheet from Radio Free Whatever for their 1720 kHz broadcast about a week ago. Thanks, Dick!by jtart - General radio discussion
In my email this morning a beautiful full data card from Pirate Radio Boston for their December 27th broadcast on 1720 kHz, so less than 12 hours. Thanks Charlie!!by jtart - General radio discussion
There's something on 1720 kHz right now! M ancr and rock music, but a noisy and fading signal. Haven't IDed it yet. Definitely not RFWhatever or Undercover... It's Pirate Radio Boston! Several IDs around 0013 to 0015 and mentioning reception reports they've received... QSL appreciated.by jtart - Medium Wave Logs
I just realized that the last PopComm magazine I received was the October issue - nuttin' in November or December. Anyone know if they've ceased publication or something? That would be a loss - first MT, now PC...by jtart - General radio discussion
Radio Free Whatever was on 1720 with a good AM signal one evening (I think it was xmas eve) to 0316Z sign-off. Other than that, nuttin'...by jtart - Medium Wave Logs
S5 to S6 into WNY with music and occasional IDs. Some QSB and local noise.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Got it in WNY, but very weak and in the noise.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
So that's what it was! Had a fairly strong signal here, but audio was overdriven and I couldn't make out any of the speech. The echo didn't help at all, either...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on a bit after 2200 UTC with "Are we freer in the USA today?" and other unknown music - but NOT xmas music! (thank goodness...) S5 to S7 into WNY and quite readable. "Addicted to War" at 2226. Off mid-song without ID 2337.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Hard rock (lots of great guitar work!) and M ancr. The ancr keeps saying "URM" but it's definitely the RFW guys. S5 to S9+ on the "twin sloper", S3 to S5 on the 150-foot longwire, up to S5 on the 350-foot BIM (beverage in mud). Can't name the group playing, but it seems I should know them. Haven't heard anything above the MW band for quite a while. QSL appreciated! Talked aby jtart - Free Radio Logs
Odd-ball xmas music and frequent IDs from Channel Z. At 2302 into "The East Is Red" and Radio Free Whatever program. Signal gradually improving throughout but bothered by the pestadores...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Came on around 1255 UTC with their 2013 xmas show, Charlie Loudenbloomer hosting. Signal quite good, peaking up to S9, averaging S7 into WNY. Songs included "I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus" and "Baby It's Cold Outside". Another ID at 1315 UTC.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Surprised to hear a pirate so early on a Friday! PRB with their xmas special just ending as I tuned in. One song, a couple IDs by Charlie Loudenboomer (who sounds very familiar!) and gone 1247 UTC. Decent signal with minimal fading into WNY.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Received in todays' mail a full data 25th Anniversary (1985-2010) card from World Harvest Radio for the T8WH xmtr on 9930 kHz in Palau. Took 458 days after a written follow-up report was sent to South Bend, IN, and that was two years after entering two reports on their website, for a total of three years and three months, give or take a few days. Country #76 verified. Whew! I was beginningby jtart - General radio discussion
Also heard in WNY with a very tinny signal - sounded like they were using the mic to pick up the music. I got the ID as Toynbee Radio this time around, but it did sound a lot like Twangy Radio...by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Xmas-related music and OM ID. At the moment (2311 UTC) playing blues tune. Not as strong as HPR who was here earlier.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Rebroadcasting something from Sirius FM; a countdown of music, I think. Repeated computer-generated IDs with gmail addy just prior to end at 1510 UTC.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Likewise good signal into WNY. Heard Dave Walker with music and Channel Z IDs.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Also good into WNY at 2320+ UTC.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
Heard in WNY as well. Not the greatest signal here, but some local (electrical) noise. Had trouble pulling out the ID until near the end. Mostly oldies with m ancr.by jtart - Free Radio Logs
