I heard the same thing. Ernie immediately tagged most of his wares "for export only". It's too bad. He had some really nice kits that actually performed well - several steps above the typical Ramsey fare of the day. And the EBN newsletter that Boomer mentioned was really good too. It's quite curious John. The solar panels that might offend would be small installations. I would imagine the solar farm will be integrating its output to the grid - rather than charging batteries. Whatever, you would have to be within a few hundred feet of it to have the interference. But boy can they throw off some noise! When I had my cabin I'd have to disable the charge controller any tiby ff - General radio discussion
John - have you kept a log to note if there is a pattern to days / times etc that the interference is there? Is it just there when the highway guys are there, for instance? Gawd there could be so many things that are causing it. In the years when I was living off grid power, my 12V CFL fixtures produced a noise similar to what you're describing. They actually have an oscillator inside them thby ff - General radio discussion

Thanks for all the love, guys! I also noticed a BIG improvement in the audio this last Friday and didn't know why. Thanks for the enlightenment Cos. I have now shot my wad - all six of the WAZU shows from 2013 and 2014 have been broadcast. I have six more weeks in the same time slot where the six pack will be repeated. OK, I understand. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you. I latched on to an old Radio Shack turntable in good shape at a rummage sale a few years back for $5. Thanks for the kind words guys. I started with the tamest show I had in order to test the waters at WBCQ. Things will get "edgier" quickly. Thanks for tuning in!by ff - General radio discussion
I have secured the 9-10PM Friday night block on WBCQ's Area 51 for the next dozen weeks, starting tomorrow (12/19). I will be "repurposing" a half dozen WAZU outband shows from the last couple years to fill these slots. I wanted to give these a better airing before I poleaxed them. Thanks for the heads up Cos. Years ago I considered putting Radio Garbanzo on there but because of all the profanity and raunchiness I decided not to - not wanting to change the station character. Geez Dood, this crusty old geezer just can't resist spouting off on this one! The way I see it, digital fringe reception problems were well-known long before the changeover and were probably the main reason for it. I gotta agree with John - AM radio will continue its slow slide into oblivion. In my opinion, what is really killing it has little to do with programming. Although many are incensed by all the political talk that abounds there, the stations have found a market niche to exploit and profit from. Lacking that, the band would be dead already.
