Pat was an extremely talented personality. With his buddies in "Murph's Marauders"... he generated many funny bits, ads and PSAs (of questionable veracity for those of us in the Free Radio community). The hotel wiring is a very complex load. That's why the coupler had so many choices. I had taken an old RS VOM, added a whip antenna and a ground wire (gnd prong of an outlet or clip to the AC housing). Added a germanium diode to the 3Vac circuit. Went back to check the circuit. Hey Boomer & Howdy Doody Dood Lemme scratch ur ears, Boomer. Back in the day (about the mid-90s)... I ran a CC rig at the Winterfest. Ran a bunch of Oz, Action Radio, etc. Using a DX-35... I made a coupler with a series tapped coil into a switchable 2kv set of caps... into the wall... tuned up for max signal on an S-meter... and let her rip.
