On at 0120 with IS - for ten minutes! Into EE program at 0130 but muffled audio on mic. which rendered the YL mostly not understandable. The M ancr was a bit better and the folk music at the end of the broadcast was nice. Report sent.by jtart - Shortwave Broadcast Logs

For the past several years there has been a repeated hue and cry about the existence of a FCC snitch - that is, someone who is giving the FCC information about pirate Operators' identitys and locations. Very unusual for a signal to peak just before the TOH ID, but they did! Came up out of nowhere with the usual "tock, tock" sound and time announcement just prior to the minute, stayed audible for the hourly ID and info, then gradually faded into oblivion by 1410Z. Nice letter received from the MIKES time station (25 MHz) in todays' mail. Total time: 66 days. They returned the $2 sent for return postage! Funny, though - I haven't yet heard the reactivated WWV on that frequency... update (31May15): Apparently they have taken their time station off the air since WWV reactivated on 25 MHz. Nice assortment of music, from old Chicago to a bluesy "Train Kept a'comin'" up to sign-off at 0017Z. "All music all ID, WMID" and WMID ID repeated before carrier cut. Very nice AM signal (S9+ into WNY) and *great* modulation made this an enjoyable listen. QSL appreciated.by jtart - Free Radio Logs

Carrier on 1217, programming began at 1222 with YL (in English!) talking about clean air. Music started about 1230 with reggae song "No Woman, No Cry". Pretty decent signal - maybe better than last week. Certainly good for 400watts! YL talking in English again at 1238. Didn't know they did anything in English... Hellalula!! I heard 'em this morning (local time)! Tuned the Kenwood to 25.900 about 1200 UTC and heard nothing, so I just left it on. about 1315 I realized I was hearing some metal music followed by a M in Ruskie, then more metal. Real nice signal into WNY tonight on 6255 with light pop music. S7 to S9 on the Kenwood and "twin sloper". Best I've ever heard 'em (well, only the second time...). There was a burst of LOUD idling FAX at one point but generally a good frequency.by jtart - Free Radio Logs

MIKES time station beeping along nicely on 25.000 MHz on 03/08 at 1845+. Not a S4 signal, but it seems pretty steady today. Some short fades and some long, deep fades, but fairly steady. Give it a shot!by jtart - Other logs

Apparently PPE, Brazil. They also made a brief appearance at 2245Z today with CW following the minute marker. Didn't know they used CW IDs... BPM was audible 2255 until 2300 with their offset pips, CW ID, and YL in CC.by jtart - Other logs

I know several time stations have been "decommissioned" in recent years, including VNG, ATA, BSF, and HD2IOA. I've been hoping for a trace of YVTO but haven't heard anything from them.
