Radio Insight reports that WFME 1560 will suspend operations on Friday, February 12. They reportedly bought the 1560 from radio Dizz-knee in 2015 for $12 million, and have sold it for $51 million to a real estate developer. Money talks and bullshit walks. To me, this is because many AM stations have got a license for one or more FM repeaters, and music does better for the stations than yet another relay of satellite-fed right wing blather or bible beaters. Since the repeater must relay the AM station's signal, the AM runs music.
