The R-75 was getting a little old (at least 10 years) and I imagine some parts were getting hard to source. It certainly was a good receiver, and with a few tweaks, it was a great receiver! I loved mine.
But for once I'm ahead of the curve: I recently sold off my R-75 (just before they discontinued it) and got a non-transmitting Icom 756 Pro3 as a receiver; and let me tell you, I will never go back - the bandscope and IF DSP are to die for!
Now, to do some antenna improvements...
America needs a sense of humor...
