Just put freshly recharged NiMH batteries in the DX398 and walked around the yard. There's nothing eminating from the electric meter panel. Nothing at the pole in the yard. And nothing detected at the remote-reading water meter.

I'm stumped! And getting desperate...

Boomer suggested BPL, but to the best of my knowledge, there isn't any in the area. If there was, I might be using it!

Cable TV is still a possibility, but the nearest cable is at least three poles away - how far does that stuff radiate?

Anybody have an idea?
