Or you could try hanging the loop from a planthook in the ceiling to reclaim some table space. Then you'd only have to worry about whacking your head on the loop. Could make you loopy... :(

If you're going to build one, there are two basic types: Box and spiral. The spiral loop peaks when broadside to the signal you want; the box loop peaks along the axis of the turns. There's also a coax loop for noise reduction, but I don't think it's good for MWDX.

With a 2-foot limit you'll probably need more turns of wire to resonate on MW. That might make the loop a bit more cumbersome to use. (Most common loops are around four feet across.)

You'll have to experiment. But that's GOOD! Give it a shot and let us know what works for you.
