Back in the last century, I used to listen to WKBW - 1520, Buffalo, at night, with either Tommy Shannon or Joey Reynolds. They were skywave, which meant that they often faded almost completely out. When they faded, I would listen to WMEX - 1510, Boston, with Arnie "Woo-woo" Ginsberg.
Daytime it was WARM - 590, in Scranton. WNDR - 1260, Syracuse, was an alternate on a good day.
I also remember listening to WIBG - 990, Philadelphia, on occasion.
There used to be a lot of good AM rock stations. Today they're all talk, sports, or religion. :(
