1560 Wednesday afternoon

Got something: News and weather beginning at 1730 ET. At 1735 the "John Henry" talk show began. 1750 an ad for pillow.com. Can't tell if it's sports oriented or not. Signal peaks while they're talking, but fades for IDs, of course! YSR? ESPN? Something else?

And now WKDO is starting to encroach...

Here's a strange one: Just after 1800 ET I had a strong (S9) station playing "Big Bad John". As the song got to the point where "with jacks and timbers they started back down" - *POOF*. Gone. And nothing else on the frequency, just slop from 1570... I've never heard a frequency go so dead, so fast. WKDO finally signing off at the correct time?

1814 WCNW sign-off. Their slogan is "Love 1560".

Later: Nope, not WKDO. They're still in there at 1900 ET with oldies, although not with their usual powerhouse signal.

I also note that WFSP's website claims the AM is still gospel, when it's oldies parallel the FM. Someone asleep at the switch?

America needs a sense of humor...
