Caw! Caw! Time to eat some crow...

Back during the WQEW to WFME (1560 kHz) transition (while the station was off the air) I questioned Bram's reception of KGOW from Bellaire, TX, saying that they were directional WSW. Wuz I ever wrong!

I had looked in my NRC Antenna Pattern Book and seen the wrong station: KTXZ, which *is* directional WSW fulltime. The log I have (2006 edition) actually shows KGOW as a non-directional daytime only station! Time for a new reference.

More recently, Radio Animal sent me a link to James L. Tonne's antenna pattern software, which I downloaded and installed. It shows KGOW directional just East of due North, making it quite reasonable for Bram (and others) to hear. Now the only question is, "Why didn't I hear them?" And for that, I have no answer. Maybe if WFME goes off again..?

I still have no clue who the conservative talker was, or the station with news from the Plains Radio Network, or the station with the John Henry talk show. Never heard IDs on those.

Anywho, congrats to Bram for a good catch!
