Really interesting Radio World (2/1/13) article (Don't keep us down on the farm) about the idea of moving the entire AM band to the vacancies left by TV channels 5 and 6 being vacated. Points out that every other tech savy nation has used TV channels 5 and 6 for either FM or some other broadcast use. Author is Larry Tighe who is the owner of WRNJ (AM) in Hackettwon, NJ. "Spectrum similar to what we use for AM has been abandoned by LORAN, non-directional beacons and other countries because its unfit for public service anymore".
Larry is not a big fan of the NAB. Very thoughtful read.
