WOW!!! Haven't heard from your since last year! So, make it keen for 2018! (Well, what else rhymes with 18?) It could be warmer though. However, VHF / UHF'ers are getting some what of a treat at the Great Lakes. When it gets this cold, and the lakes are still relatively warm, you get a weak Temp Inversion. I remember spending quite a few very cold winter late nights, and early mornings, DX'ing FM, TV, and 2M, stations up around the Great Lakes when there wasn't any other DX activity going on. So, point your beams towards the Great Lakes cities and try to listen for what you can't normally hear, or watch.
