Interesting about Brits being more open to at least talking about pirate subjects. I thought modern America was formed by rebels!

Ah, but then we also believe in commercialism as the path to success and money in radio, just follow the rules adequately and we'll leave your business alone. Now to mention the spectrum auctioning that's happening these days, leading to even greater feelings of possession of the airwaves by companies.

There's also the AARL, that's always seemed professional and traditional, and getting those two things together can lead to a group that's intolerant of other ideas. Their stance has probably saved any number of Amateur radio bands from being taken into corporate hands though!

Maybe Pirate Radio needs to organize and form a League of their own, the FCC seems to love professionalism and a corporate mentality, it's what they know and are prepared to deal with.

Part-15 radio operators are trying, but it's been tough, no one likes the other guy's rules and ideas that are being laid down, and probably with good reason, lots of the proposals seem to be the operator's pet ideas and politics.

Thanks for sharing the documentary! I've always enjoyed the stories of offshore radio, since seeing it on the news years ago.
