All the modern technologies are as a two-edged sword. I LOVE receiving MP3s of received transmissions - even if the reception was poor. Nothing gives me a better idea of how I'm getting out than to hear it with my own ears. Although it took me awhile to get comfortable with e-QSLs, I have made the mental adjustment and now issue them without a qualm. SDR receptions don't bother me. I don't care if the enthusiast was out getting a pizza or was taking one with his wife, I still know that my signal was received, and how well. I look at it from the transmitting side. I appreciate signal reports of ALL receptions. That gives me the information I need and I will gladly issue a QSL for the report. The problem I have with the new technologies mainly revolve around whether one actually received the b'cast, or not. Reporting reception from a DX tuner without specifying that is a big problem, as is reporters who never made a reception - just copied details from loggings made on sites such as this one and the HFU. SDRs don't bother me. But the greatly increased ability to cheat does...
