I wasn't comparing eqsl's to SDR but making the observation that both are part of the advance of technology. There's no controversy here, its simply a discussion about how the technology has changed the playing field of Pirate Radio. Personally I don't see a problem with an SDR recording of a pirate station, then that person reporting what they heard. Was it real time? No. But so what? The listener still heard it. Does the delay of bouncing the radio signal off the Ionosphere constitute a "not hearing it in real time" situation? A computer (SDR) can't hear anything only compute 1's and 0's in a manner that we humans can understand. I think it brings another facet to Pirate Radio listening for the busy DX'er. Especially for the married with children DX'er who has little time for his thoughts, much less sitting down with a radio and blocking out the bedlam of life. My vote is YES SDR logged stations are worthy of a QSL. Just my opinion.
