Could the same be said of e-qsl's? JTA its the 21st Century. Just like the face of the hobby changed when A*C*E* stopped publishing because Internet sites offered immediate information and there was no need for a printed newsletter with month old information. The way people listen has drastically changed as well. If the receiver is logging the date/time/frequency and you hear the program, what difference does it make if it was recorded so you could listen to it at a later time? Just my opinion but Pirate Radio has to change with the rest of the world and technology. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from posting a log because it was from an SDR and they listened to it at their convenience. Personally I think this expands the Pirate audience. If Pirate Operators don't welcome this new technology they might alienate a whole new audience of listeners who may be the face of the future.
How many years ago would you think someone was dangerously insane if they were talking (what appears) to themselves in an animated fashion in the car? Not that many years ago. Now they're talking on their "hand free" cell phone. OK so they're still dangerously insane, but now they have an excuse.
The future is coming and you can welcome it with open arms or get run over by it and eat its dust!
Just my opinion
