Great 75M propagation on 3787KHz last night!

Wow!!! Ever since I've moved down to WV, hearing Euro-stations of any sort has been quite a challenge. However, last night was different. Listening to that UK HAM, G0EVY, Dave, I could usually just hear him in there since he has a 75M switchable beam to N. Am. Last week, he peaked at about an S1 to me. However, last night at 04:00UTC he was popping in at an S5 at times! Unheard of where I am, that's more like what I'd expect up in WNY by JTA's QTH. I've also hear some of Dave's UK friends this time. Then, one of the stations back here asked Dave to back it down to 6W, so he did. WOW!!! I still just heard him! Then, he brought his power back to 220W, where, I guess, that's what he normally runs. If there weren't so many USA / Canadian, Russian, Swedish, and Italian, stations calling for him, I might have tried for him with my puny 100W. I don't know if this boost in 75M propagation is the direct result of this polar vortex, but it's neat. What do you late nighters hear there?
