I agree with a few of the posters: AM radio is already dead. There *is* no "revitalization"...

It all started when the FCC was forced (by Congress) to allow more stations on the band and was only made worse by allowing a broadcasting group to own hundreds of stations. To increase profits, all those stations are voice-tracked from a single studio and there is no "local" content. Hell, there is no local news. If you're lucky, you might get an occasional generic time check.

The trouble is that they are now doing the same thing to FM radio -cramming more and more stations onto the band.

Funny how it works: The more stations that get on the air, the LESS choice there is to the listener.

Whatever happened to the concept that broadcasting was to be done "in the public interest"?

America needs a sense of humor...
