Re: This July heat wave could make for some interesting VHF / UHF DX'ing!

Last Friday morning there was a spectacular sporadic E opening. I caught various FM stations from Texas, Wisconsin, and Tennessee then. The event was pretty much over by noon.

Tropo has been fair to good for the past week on FM, with last weekend being best as the temperatures got really high. Lots of reception of the stations between the locals, at distances from 100-300 miles or so.

There are a lot of new FM translators coming on the air, many repeating dying AMers. Most are good DX targets and are helped by the tropo.
