My heart says that its a good thing. However, my head knows that once a slice of spectrum is de-criminalized - a spectrum slice that is easily receivable by the general public - then it will quickly become overrun with mediocrity. Once the kit sellers and pre-built unit sellers make the spectrum slice cheap and easy to access... EEK!! Jukeboxes and real estate annunciators and undocumented transponders - OH MY! The Barbarians will be at the gates... sadly. Sometimes even government regulators can be your friend.
