Re: Stop Radio Pirates!

Back in the late 80s when I was young-er and stupid-er I pirated locally on the FM band. I learned that it's the fast track to getting the FCC's attention. If any of the old pirate chasers on this board have ever wondered why Radio Garbanzo vanished for several years during the early 90s - that's why. Too much of the wrong kind of attention necessitated "cooling it" for an extended time. Like Bram's pirate, we were running down on 88.9. IMHO, you gotta be nuts to pirate on the FM band. But to run on the top of the band - you gotta be STUPID! That's too close to the aeronautical band. And that will REALLY get you the wrong kind of listeners!
