It's quite curious John. The solar panels that might offend would be small installations. I would imagine the solar farm will be integrating its output to the grid - rather than charging batteries. Whatever, you would have to be within a few hundred feet of it to have the interference. But boy can they throw off some noise! When I had my cabin I'd have to disable the charge controller any time I wanted to listen to the radio during daylight! Also, during the years I worked for the Town Highway Dept here we also had mobile radios. BUT we also had several handhelds that were used daily to stay in contact for everything from traffic control, to mowers out in the field, during fire hydrant flushing sessions - anytime one would be out of a vehicle actually doing some work :).
