I don't think it's a UPS. I've had an APC Back-UPS sitting right near the radio desk for several years and it's never given me any noise at all. Switching to the other antenna input doesn't get the noise, so I doubt it's my UPS.
I'm leaning toward a plasma TV - seems they put out noise about every 40 kHz or so, so it could fit. But my nearest neighbor should be farther away than one of those would radiate, and I don't think they have one in the Highway Dept barn...
As an update, I'm hearing the same noise on 11735 while trying to listen to a very weak Radio Tanzania Zanzabar. Only difference is that it isn't drifting very much. Even odder: 11730 and 11740 are clear and there's nothing on 11775.
I will try turning off the UPS, just to be absolutely certain that it isn't the culprit.
